I am glad you enjoyed it.
Comment from Pam (respa)
-Good images and nice presentation, Tom.
-Your notes are appreciated.
-You did a good job with the poem
that includes many good images
and tells a good story.
-Good opening lines set the premise.
-Effective imagery describing Ms Heintzman,
with "calves ever so fine" and good comparisons
with the Eiffel Tower and the "river Nile sans crocodiles."
-You also go a good job with your reactions as a young boy.
-Very good concluding lines, as well.
-A good entry; good luck!

Tom,
This is a great poem. I swear the lust men have start as little boys and it never ends. I would think with age it would mellow out, but alas it does not.

I didn't know it was lust. I just knew something was up from the first day of school. I even thought of going to the school nurse, buit after standing on the desk and screaming like JOHNNY WEISSMULLER with the class giggling I fell to the floor and spun around in circles instead.
Comment from Esther Brown
Tom, I loved that! To remember a pair of legs from age nine. You were a bit young. My Hispanic boys get the health practitioner sex talk about boys being different than girls at 11 or twelve. You know, sex being a bit of a sport for boys and girls looking for love...Esther

Sex and hormones are a disaster waiting to happen. But at nine? You must have been precocious....
-
No. Not even close. Unless it was mentally. I was only 5'1 entering high high school so that would have been four years later. I was 5'3 a year later and thena spurt to 5'10 Sept '63. Senior entry was 6'1 graduating at 6'3/140 Jun '65 . On my 18th b.d. I reach 180, and fnally matured at 200 around a year later. NOw I am 6'6 and a rotound challenge to the rotunda in D.C. but whose counting.
-
Hey, I never accomplished taller than 5'1. I still see myself as fat 6th grader in my head with winged glasses holding a puppy. Married at 110, fattened up to 130 after my second kiddo. Finally am down to 135. I am determined to avoid the medical system and believe the best route is living right. When I am out of time God will take me home. Es

You ought to hear my "sex talk" for old men and women! That is even more fun. One day a deaf lady about my age asked some questions....which I answered in detail. The patients in the room next door got educated too.

Freshman year, high school 1968, Spanish 1... Mrs Sanchez. I think she was Mexican, long silky black hair, dark eyes, olive skin, most beautiful women I'd ever seen in my life (outside of Sophia Loren).
Good post, Tom to read in the middle of a Friday afternoon.

I can understand as a freshman who had hormones blossoming, but for a nine year old..? who knows, but like the skyliners sang six years later Zing, went the strings of my heart six years sooner.
Comment from Karen Cherry
I remember when my hormones hit. I remember being 8th grade math and seeing a new teacher, A man! Most of my teachers so far had been, except for the music teacher, and he was thin. This was a assistant coach. He had curly brown hair a little messy and muscles. Blue eyes. He was what we called a dreamboat. I wanted his babies. I didn't really know what that meant. But It was true even so.
We all have those memories, fun aren't they? Karen

I did not knew what it meant. All I knew was a transformation occurred. I felt oblique. Out of sorts. Weird. Still do occasionally. And its wonderful.

Where do hormones go when they leave? Do they reside in the depths of our minds alone stirring memory and little else. I haven't felt a stirring beside having the yearning to feel those disturbing delightful thoughts back then.
-
Hormones dissipate into the ether. Use em' while you can.
I just finished the biography. And posted. What will be the next challenge? Karen
Now I need
-
The next challenge is when will I no longer be able to raise from my bed without assistance.
-
I have A pull up bar on my bed . It slides in between the mattress and box spring or frame. $19.95. karen

Crushes on teachers were always fun. Lots of giggling by us girls when we entered my eighth grade Math class and saw Mr. Downing. Thanks for sharing.

Our fmily moved following my first month in first grade. We had just gotten a new teacher, whose name I've forgotten. She wore a lengthy dress, exposing nothing. But I still remember her beautiful blonde hair and how she was one of the prettiest women I had ever seen.

Aaah. It seems my story has opened a can a worms for more than a few. Isn't it great?

That's really funny and cute. I think most young boys have a crush on one of their teachers sooner of later. It must be a requirement of the rites along the path to manhood. Evi

I don't know Harry Potter, but she surely gave me a wand the day that class started wink-wink.

Your poem is so fun! I love how you shared that moment of sudden realization with such humor. The transformation from clueless kid to
Tarzan was hilarious! It felt perfect for that age. This was such a delight to read!

The fun was in the thought and Playboy magazines until I reached well past puberty... mayber 24 or so. Thank you. I was in no rush after viewing the STD films the service showed us.
