What a wonderful story! It's amazing when we are blessed by scenes like this. God has a sense of humor and I see you have gotten a taste of it. Thanks for sharing.

I really laughed at this little story. I am loving this project so far. I remember praying for some silly things when I was a child. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

That's such a precious memory! Thank you for sharing that, Barbara. I was rooting for Mom all the way as I could have imagined your frustration but God heard Steven's prayer and may he always remember how God answered! Appreciate your kind mention of my story, too!

It's amazing how often we're inspired by what someone else has said or written. It's great when that happens. Steven was at an age when kids want what they want when they want it. I think you were right in refusing him, as he had said he didn't want curly fries. His solution was great. Try the gumball machine. He must have known it offered a chance to get free curly fries. I agree with you it isn't appropriate to pray for things like curly fries. The prayer being answered this time may lead to disappointment if another prayer isn't answered. judi

Barbara,
I love this story.
I've never had kids of my own but was a doting aunt. Your comical non-fiction is sweet and reminds me of my nieces and nephews and greats-. They often opened my eyes in good ways too!
Exceptional story, Barbara.
Best wishes,
Blessings,
Cindy

This is a really cute story. It doesn't seem like the proper thing to pray about but who is to say his prayer wasn't answered. I've seen my children pray prayers with results that left me scratching my head in wonder.

Well I guess the Lord was happy to provide him with urly fries after all. He works in mysterious ways at times. Maybe there was another sign within that entire process?
Cute story. Thanks for sharing.

It did teach Steven to pray, so that's a good thing. Thank you for the kind review.

Ah well you didn't give in because you didn't go up to the counter yourself. And Steven managed it all by himself...with a little spiritual back-up! Thanks, Barbara, for sharing this enjoyable family memory. Take care Debbie

The Lord works in mysterious ways...guess he thought Steven needed the curly fries and you kept your word and didn't buy him any. Love the memories.
