I can understand how nervous Sami is; I'd be flipping my lid with worry. The waiting around is the worst part--not knowing what's happening. Now we wait to see how badly hurt Myra and Mateo are. I have one more chapter to read, and then I have to wait until you post this afternoon. (my time.) Another well written chapter, Barbara. :) Sandra xx

Hello Barbara,
this was a fairly exciting chapter. I like the action that took place. Sami is right- waiting is one of the most trying things a human can deal with. You're left in a state of limbo, helpless to do anything. Glad to hear that Myra was rescued, however it's yet to be determined how serious her injuries are. Well done gal.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

Barbara your story is so sweet. Somehow you keep the romance afloat amidst the danger and suspense without making it soppy and keeping it real. People act so differently when faced with danger. Esther

Wow, it got very intense at the end. I hope everybody is okay. Good development, as far as Sami and Noah's relation goes. I feel bad for everybody but especially for Sami, waiting is hard.
Well done, Barbara.

The story is coming along with another bump in the fear factor as Mateo and Myra are taken to the hospital. No one else seems to be injured although, if there are young women being held in prostitution, they will need medical and psychological help also. Sami can hope Noah hasn't been injured.

You caught me off guard, and of course, I liked it. I was going along thinking the love story was being most emphasized, then things blew up. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Barbara, this started on a gentle a slow note, where Noah a Sami finally found their way with each other. And then all hell broke loose. I loved it. All best, Ulla xcx

This started slow, with that make up scene between Noah and Sami, and then some more small talk about playing poker, but then the action suddenly exploded as Chen moves on Mateo when Sami's cover is blown. We do see how Noah is walking this fine line between job protocols and his relationship with someone he has to protect. It is a fine line, I am not sure how this would be handled in real police forces. He would probably be taken off the case. The rising tension at the end of the chapter and the burst of action was well orchestrated though. We are on the edge of our seats as they head out to confront Chen. estory

5th para ist sentence
"That to was not my intent" .
I think 'to' is not needed.

Thank you for the catch. I'm positive Gremlins put the 'to' there. LOL I always appreciate the help.

After I thought Sami was sounding more confident in the last chapter, she's back to being insecure again but, clearly by the end of this chapter with its dramatic turn of events, rightly concerned for Noah as well as Myra. Thanks for sharing another excellent chapter, Barbara. Could this be reaching a conclusion? Take care Debbie
