I agree in the majority however forgetting history oft times leads to repeating mistakes, and as the adage goes, if so and you expect a change, you're crazy.

This is a very well written poem you have penned for the Mirror, Mirror contest. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery from the art work. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

I don't know who wrote this, as much as should be, being part of the rule. It is beautifully written. Any author would be proud of it. Nicely balanced. Ekphrastic, perhaps, yet how well it is written, incorporating the photograph, of course, the descriptive value is unforced and beautifully projected.
Good luck with this. I writer's poem.
Best wishes.

Sometimes we imagine our dreams are better than our reality - but that is not always the case.
Shedding self-doubt
rejoining a life already in progress;
I throw the intruder one last glimpse
then cast off the illusion she represents.
Glad you regained your focus.
Nice entry for the contest. Should do well,

Good entry for the Mirror contest. When one looks into the mirror, we often see what we once were, but I like the thought of forgetting the past and looking forward to the future.

A thought provoking poem of untangling your thoughts. Sometimes peering at our reflection and seeing a stranger peering back can do that. I especially liked the penultimate stanza.
Well done.
Blessings

An excellent poem for this contest; I think it could do really well; good luck. The more times I read it, the better it gets. Of course, I could be just slow on the uptake. The ability to look at one's life and see and hear through all the noise of living, just to shed it and not look back, is pretty cool. Excellent job!

I liked the way you moved on at the end. It takes courage to do that. You did a great job with this poem for the "mirror mirror" contest. Best of luck to you.

It's amazing what our reflections mean to us. The way we see ourselves. Not always the way others see us. Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I enjoyed reading and it caused me to ponder as I read. That's always a good thing. Good luck with the contest.
