As far as the issue of discrimination I acknowledge your concerns and thoughts of what you write about. All that write is thought provoking yet introduces all to God
A God whom does not hate. Keep expressing His power through words.

For sure, we need to know who is entering this country, but decade after decade the issue is used as a political football instead of undertaking the massive job of "fixing" our immigration system. There should be a committee formed that works on nothing but this fix, no matter how long it takes. You can't write legislation that will pass and work for those of us here as well as those wanting to be here, then you don't get to do anything else in Congress until you finish this one job.

Perhaps if we thought of ourselves as immigrants entering Heaven ...

Thanks for the voice for and support of those who only want a better life. It's going to take a whole lot of praying.

I agree, The problem as I see it, is that those lucky enough to be born here or at least allowed to be here legally ought to stop and ask themselves, what if I was not born here or allowed to be here legally, then how would I feel?

This is a wonderful poem that speaks out about discrimination and hatred of those who aren't exactly like you. This is not something that should have a place in the mind of a Christian. Yet a party who would like people to believe stands for Christian principles is the one that embraces such discrimination.

Two questions that we all need to ask and answer truthfully. How would I feel if I were not here legally, and how would I feel if I were born to a race that was not well liked or respected?

This is so heartbreaking, Nomi. We are all the same. We are all God's children yet so many will not accept that. What makes them so special and those of different countries and colour so despised? Who are those people who think they are right to judge God and His children? And will it never stop? How can those 'Christian' people think God will welcome them to His home after they have offended Him so much? Your poem tells us so much about how you feel and how it hurts you to see this. Your last stanza... will that ever happen? I can only pray it does otherwise my grandchildren's children will never see a world at peace.
Have a wonderful New Year, my friend. Love and hugs, Sandra xx

Hello, dear Nomi, your poem has touched a very hot topical issue, not only in the most powerful country in the world, but even in the smallest of countries. I pray that love and sound reasons reign without prejudice to the weak. Well done, my friend for sharing your reflection. Beautifully done

I thank you from not leaning political...

The government has mishandled the logistics of immigration on both sides of the aisle, and under both parties.

Very few of us can say we did not come to this country as immigrants, down through the generations.

Emma Lazarus wrote these words inscribed on the Statue of Liberty:

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
----

The Bible says:

Zechariah 7:9-10
"This is what the Lord Almighty said: 'Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other."

----

There are many immigrants fleeing to America --

If they are criminals, they should be treated as such...

I do not understand surrendering the principles of helping those in peril, because bueracracy has been sorely botched.

"Mass Deportation" makes no allowance for those who have lived peacefully, worked, paid taxes and worshipped beside us.

Would Jesus be an illegal alien?

Will he forgive us for not loving one another?

We need a better system, not the forced deportation of good people, because among them are some bad.

Is that not true of Americans as well?

I hope people consider your plea...

Karenina

My question is if the immigrants are doing so much damage to America, why isn't America doing something about improving the places these immigrants are leaving in droves?

God Bless -- all of us. He does, and if we would follow His lead, we would do the same!

You write about the hatred people feel toward immigrants and I applaud you for bringing up this issue to the foreground. You say it in plain terms that everyone can understand and you bring up that we are all of God's children no matter where we live or come from.
Thanks for bringing up this important issue. It is a hot-button item that burns hatred in so many of us and I for one do not hate immigrants.

Nor do I. God forced the people who were building the tower of babel to spread out so that his purpose of filling the earth with people would be accomplished. So that move right there actually forced immigration.

Thanks for the historical reference to the Tower of Babel and how it forced immigration into being.

Ciao ,

I do believe there should be more tolerance in this world.

Too much hate and not enough love.

Nation leaders should be the first to try and fix their differences through diplomacy instead they are quick to go to war.

And children, the innocent are dying like flies.

Many flee and try to find a better future in America or Europe.

During the Biden administration, and under Harris' watch 13 million illegals crossed the Mexico/S border, including criminals, pedophiles and terrorists.

This humongous amount has weighed on your health and education system to a collapsing point.

Our leaders should stop creating unnecessary wars, so people are not forced to flee and search for a new home in another continent.

Instead of spending billions on warfare and polluting air, soil, and water, our governments should unite and take care of each other.

PS. Yes God encouraged movement ..that is because back then 90% of our home planet was unpopulated.

Today, every country has more than its share of people. Earth is overpopulated, bursting at the seams.

All that you state is true. However if it is mandated that we treat each person as our neighbor, how can we in good conscious mistreat someone because of their color, tongue or place of birth and still say we are righteous?

Oh, how can we live in a whole so filled with hate, it's hard to understand. All brothers and sisters in Christ, don't we all deserve compassion. How do we turn away those who need us most? But then, people starving on our streets are shuffled away out of site, because they are an eyesore to our city and state. governments. The best thing we all can do is stand up and speak out. I don't want to deny anyone the bare necessities of life. Thanks for sharing, Nomi. I wish I had a six.

You se my friend, it is easy to complain, but not so easy to actually do something concrete to fix the problem. Why aren't we holding the feet of the leaders in some of the countries to the fire so that people are not so desperate to risk their lives to get away?
reply by Ric Myworld on 26-Dec-2024
    I agree wholeheartedly, my friend!

I cannot believe the word even exists anymore. This is a wonderful poem that tells how it has to stop. I hope anyone who reads this that feels hate will heed the call.

Your poem was really good and your rhyme and meter were delightful.
I enjoyed reading this even if the subject matter was hard to deal with, but you had such a good message. Merry Christmas my awesome BBBB. And thanks for posting on this important subject. Lotsa love, sweet bro.. Debi
