London Fog

If I could live a single day

as an eternity, caught in amber,

it would be Saturday with you.

No matter the pain I carry with me,

your arms are my panacea.

I feel as though I am drifting so often,

a leaf to the winds of my distress,

yet every moment with you grounds me

with anchoring trust in every touch.

The world moves so madly:

spinning, spinning, spinning,

until we are at our favorite table

with thoughts intertwined,

and all that insanity ceases to be.

Then I feel I know what Heaven is,

in the warmth of your voice,

in london fog teas and velvet words.

I would live it over and over with you,

promising forever and a day.
