A humorous rememberance
It's Perspective
by bhogg
I unsuccessfully petitioned the city to install a speed bump on my street to help protect several grade school aged kids. My son being one of them. Apparently, difficult to do, as all people on the street must approve. The city agreed to put up a sign.
Driving home from work, I noticed the highly graphic and visible sign. The message both concise and precise: SLOW--CHILDREN AT PLAY.
When I walked through the door, I could see my son pouting. "What's wrong buddy?"
"It's that stupid sign. Me and Timmy are as smart as anyone. We ain't slow!"

I recently saw a similar sign and couldn't help but smile. My son is now over forty, but I can still see the pout and hear his disjointed wisdom.
