I was born a writer.
I became a Police Officer.
From patrol to Chief and everything in between; from small town to big city, in four states and six different departments, I spent over 30 years writing reports more than the things I loved.

Along the way, I also began to research God and whether He was real. It was like a long police investigation. There was only one conclusion to reach and like so many others, once I began to seek God - He found me. Now He defines my life even more than my writing or my police work.

Recently a heart condition has made it necessary for me to leave Police Work. (I have one last murder trial and a few small cases to finish and I will be free.) It was a gift from God to give me time to do what I long to do. Oh how my Lord Jesus loves me.

I come from a line of story tellers but my love affair with writing began in the early seventies, when I was 13 years old. I read "R is for Rocket" by Ray Bradbury and I wanted to create stories like that. John Boy Walton was my hero. I began writing stories and poems and essays. I won some recognition for my writing but I got married and had some children. After that my writing was eclipsed by responsibilities and for that I have no regrets - it was the right thing to do. When I was 19, I was offered a job at a local newspaper. Another job paid better and I had a family so I chose the money.

I still wrote and kept it all stored - waiting. Now God has given me another chance to pursue the passion He put inside me. The years of Police Work has given me plenty of stories but I have been telling them in reports for so many years that it may be a while before they come out. For now I am slowly wading in.
