Commando: Although the book we co-authored was mostly fiction, what we shared truly was Love Long Distance. For almost five years, after meeting him on FanStory, Bill Bishop (Commando) was the first person I spoke to almost every morning and the last person I talked with every night. We wrote together hours upon hours for several years until he lost his sight. He loved writing more than anything and showed me just how magical the imagination can be. I came to know and love him in a very special way and will love him eternally. He is my inspiration and my muse. Bill passed away peacefully at his home on 12/15/2022. Serving 30 years in the US Air Force and continuing to serve others through his involvement with the DAV (Disabled American Vets), American Legion, etc., he is to be commended and honored. I will continue to do just that by continuing to write; something he would want me to do. I love you bunches and bunches, Bill Bishop, and know you are now sharing a glass of wine with Jesus at His supper table, with Stella, the love of your life, by your side. Thank you for all you've done for me and others. I will forever hold you in my heart. ❤️ Respectfully with Love and Admiration, Cathy Waldron (aka Tootie) |

~~~C*O*N*G*R*A*T*U*L*A*T*I*O*N*S !~~~ Your first place win is WELL-DESERVED! I am so PROUD to discover this entry is YOURS, Commando! You did an EXCELLENT job, I LOVE how you wrote about your life in such an interesting way, yet in such a small amount of space. Throughout its short space, you focus on others. Your words come straight from YOUR HEART! Those words speak volumes about YOU, your integrity, your patriotism, and your faith. Your entry is FABULOUS! It describes a life of service and one that still focuses on serving others! Beautiful! I LOVE IT! It is inspirational and so moving! I'm honored to read it and learn more about YOU. Commando: Dear Friends, Writing is unarguably a passionate art form. Through the centuries, it has provided us with an outlet for exploring our innermost thoughts and emotions. Regardless of the style or subject chosen, we are able to express our intimate feelings using this ancient tradition. It allows us to communicate issues that we might not be able to otherwise openly discuss. It as well affords us the opportunity to reevaluate ourselves, our relationship with others, our station in life and the world around us. Writing may also be therapeutic, allowing us to work through issues in our lives to find solutions, clarify, comfort, and peace of mind. It is by virtue of this versatility that the art of writing has remained strong century after century. Sharing my thoughts with you, and having your support along the way is an honor. Best wishes and God Bless. Respectfully with Admiration, Bill |
