Selina Stambi: This thought crossed my mind this morning ... a smile costs nothing, yet it's priceless. It transforms a grim moment. Give the gift of smiles this Christmas - they're free and they usually get reciprocated. Merry Christmas to all and happy Hanukkah to my Jewish friends. I'm truly thankful for so many things - Fanstory and my friends on this site are way up on the list! Reach for the stars - settle for nothing less. Smiles to you (they're free!) ... |

I thought I had plenty of time, then it all happened so fast .. off to the hospital with no time to spare. The doctor said he was off to have his morning tea and be back in time ...... well, it was already time according to the babe I was birthing. The nurse who had been unpleasant to me both then and in a previous birth was hoping the doctor wouldn't make it back in time, she wanted to birth the baby. Aaron is just as impatient today twenty one years later as he was then. He was out in seconds .... with the hugest umbilical cord any of the nurses had seen. In that long cord was a knot .... if that cord hadn't been so long, my son may have been born a still birth. I have nearly lost him two more times in his short life. I trust in the miracle of that day, and the miracles that saved him at age eight and nineteen ..... he is being watched over and protected. For that I'm so thankful and trust God to keep him safe. <3 <3 <3 -

Selina Stambi: Any more miracles? |

We were in Hallmark looking at Webkins for my sister?s grandkids when two lady's approached us. They told us they were on a spiritual treasure hunt. There were several teams dispatched throughout town. They had prayed before going out for God to lead them to people who were in need of prayers. They told us that they were led to the mall looking for three people and to look for one in red. I just so happened to be wearing a red jacket. They asked us if we needed prayers and we told them that we had buried our mom the day before, needless to say we were a little freaked out and I think they were too. One of the ladies said she had never felt a pull so strongly as she had ours. So after a few minutes of tears and hugging perfect strangers, we circled and prayed in the middle of Hallmark. People around us stopped shopping and stood at the edge of our circle. It was an awesome feeling and we knew our mom, forgave us. We came away feeling lighter and a little bewildered. -

I have never met this woman before, she walked up to me and named four spirits that were with me, each one correct, then went on to tell me the name of my brother, who she said is still in this world and has been very ill. I have recently moved from Ireland to Scotland to be closer to my brother who has acute leukaemia and I have been having tests to see if I am compatible as a bone marrow donor. This is just the latest experience like this I have had many before. There are some charlatans out there, do not be put off by them. The point I am trying to make is that this is genuine, there is more, life does not end here, the spirit does move on. Hope this doesn't sound too crazy. AJ. -

I ordered one year worth of statements from each of these nine credit companies. Over the next few weeks the statements arrived in the mail. No big surprises---a few large charges on expensive dresses from Neiman Marcus, Saks, etc. The big shock came when I received a batch of statements from a huge credit company out of Wilmington DE. As usual, I first counted the number of statements in the package. Instead of 12, as in all the others, there were 13 sheets. The extra statement, unbelievably, belonged to the woman I'd had the affair with seven years prior. I was dumbfounded. I had never used a card to purchase a thing for her, and she hadn't either. Both are last names begin with the letter B---but there is no other similarity in spelling. The size of the credit co, with millions of customers, makes it likely that my statements were filed far away form my former friend's. Was it a message from God---reminding me to not be too angry with my wife since I had been unfaithful. Or, to the opposite, was it a message suggesting that I should pursue my former love. I've thought about this hundreds of times and have discussed it with many friends. The only remote explanation, is that I was hallucinating. However, I had reviewed the extra statement many times over many days. A prolonged hallucination would be nearly impossible. I can't explain it---some secretary at the creditor involved just happened to pull a file , either on-line or in a cabinet, a file that was completely unrelated to me, and likely thousands of names removed from my own ?????Thanks for readingfor reading------Doug -
For greater is He within me than He of the world. Facts! I pray blessings upon you and all of Fan Story members. I am old now with failing eyesight but my Lord gives strength to walk another day. My prayer is to "Let me love you more this day, Father than I did I did yesterday." My days left, I question and He assures that He wishes for me to stay a little longer. Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Peace to all. -
There more to the story, but I need to get back to work at the moment! -
So, what was intended as a relaxing Sunday, turned into a full-day pilgrimage to a church I'd never even heard of before, much less attended. I was soaked through, and had to walk all the way back to my car. Got back to my apartment and had a hot shower... too tired to eat, so I went to bed. Next day, classes began. There I was, involved in a conversation in the student lounge over lunch time. There were a couple of students I recognized from my undergrad. program, and we were chatting. Of course, the question came up, "How was your weekend?" So, I related the strange tale of feeling such an urgency to find this church, and the pilgrimage I had taken to get there, only to arrive after the services had ended. (I left off the part about hearing a voice speak to me as I stood in front of the building, soaked through!) Across the room, another young woman (whom I had never met before) came over to join the conversation. She introduced herself as Ellen. Then she asked me if she had heard me correctly, that I had been trying to find St. Stephen's Episcopal. When I affirmed it was, she told me that St. Stephen's was the church she attended - asking if I'd like to go with her next Sunday. I did, and so we began writing down our names/phone numbers and addresses for each other. When we handed each other our slips of paper, we immediately realized that we lived in the SAME apartment building, off campus, actually across the state line from where the college was located. My suite was 201, her's was 301. It was more than coincidence... we were, at that time, the only 2 graduate students in our program living off campus, and Ellen was one of very few Christian students who was not of the Lutheran denomination (which was the prevalent denomination in that area.) So, I began attending St. Stephen's regularly with Ellen. And 2 years later I chose to become baptized through that church. Voila! That's my story! -
Reuben was happy. His relationship with Sonya was going smoothly, and he was driving to see her now, her engagement ring tucked safely in his pocket. He had no doubt she would say 'yes'. What he was unsure about was the direction their future should take. Reuben believed God was directing him to train as a linguist, in order to commit his life to the pursuit of Bible Translation for a minority language group, somewhere. he believed that 'somewhere' was The Philippines. Sonya, however, was not convinced. She admired Reuben's desire, but needed something stronger than his determination to persuade her to dedicate her life to such a pursuit. She needed a sign. Reuben's heart was troubled. Was he doing the right thing, courting a girl who did not share his strong desire? Yet what could he do? He had fallen deeply and completely in love with her. He felt God's blessing upon his intention to make Sonya his wife. Reuben came to a cross-roads and slowed down. He checked right and left for traffic, then drove into the intersection. The truck travelling towards him, speeding along, was clearly intending to continue on through the intersection... The truck reached the intersection and unaccountably left its own side of the road. The truck, loaded with stone, was travelling at such speed and momentum, it not only struck Reuben's car; it drove completely over the top of it, so that when the carnage settled, the truck was on top of Reuben's car. It looked like one of those flattened vehicles one might see at a wrecking yard. How does Reuben know how the scene looked, I hear you asking? He must surely have died instantly. How could anyone escape such a disaster? He could tell me precisely what happened that day, because he watched it happen. Reuben cannot explain this. All he knows is that he stood, wide awake and lucid, on the side of the road, watching that huge truck driving over his vehicle, and coming to rest upon the flattened remains of what had been his car. He had one small scratch below his left eye. The car was not an open sports model. The police concurred that there was no way Reuben could have been thrown out of the vehicle. There was simply no time. The whole thing was over within seconds. Sonya said 'yes'. She also knew she had received the sign she sought. She and Reuben dedicated their lives to Bible Translation. A minority language group of the northern Philippines now have God's word in their language as a result. -
