Merajul: I am not a star.
There is no halo over my head.
Fate doesn't like the color of my eyes. Struggle and strife are old friends of mine.
Who am I ?
I am survival. I am guts. I am pride.
I like odds.
Especially when they're stacked against me.
Because there will come a time,
when I will stare them in the eye.
And smile the smile of the one who's pulled it off.
I am the guy who will have deep lines on his face someday.
And it'll make me look good when I laugh.
Because that is the day I will fear no fear.
And taste sweat that is sweet.
And look back for the very first time
And say, I did it my way.
The long hard way.

Merajul: Thanks for making "A Divine Mistake" achieve RECOGNIZED status. But few words I would ike to add: To all those readers who have felt disturbed with its content, as per the reviews received from a section of readers, the purpose of writing this poem is in no way to show any disrespect to the Creator. I have,not too often but seldom, wondered about the purpose of creation, transgressing the normal theological line, when looking at the misery of the people around. I agree, the poem has transcended the boundary drawn by we human, for God, during the course of flow of words & ideas in the poem but in no way,it is intended to be sacrilegious.
    Celtic~Soul: One of the divine aspects of writing is that the writer SHOULD push boundaries, explore new directions, and enlighten her readers to what inspired the poem. Don't apologize for combining art and thought--they are more powerful together than alone! If reviewers are rating lower or being abusive because of content, they're not reviewing properly. -
    Merajul: Thanks a lot for taking out time time and posting your comments on my wall.I am basically trying to drive home the point that the intention behind the poem was never to hurt anybody sentimentally. -
    Celtic~Soul: I just saw your reply here and on my profile, Merajul. You're very welcome for the input and I completely understand your intentions about the apology. I've been here a while and try to help when I can. One of the best ways I can think of is to remind writers that personal, artistic reflection on even the most staid issues is a great thing!

    You are certainly free to follow my writing here on FS. I don't post much anymore--my editing business (word-edge.com) keeps me pretty busy lately. I do have a personal-reflection piece posted now.
