This is a very lovely story. Sometimes, we can't help it, we just fall in love. Your words reminds me of a love like that, many years ago, but I still, I remember him.

This is a sweet and sort of sad and sort of happy poem. The writer has a love for someone that belongs to someone else but still can have a platonic relationship that brings them together until he is no longer around.

Another very sad story, losing a loved one is so so hard. I remember the story of the elderly lady who was making her funeral arrangements. At the end she handed the undertaker a fork and told him to put it in her casket right before burial. He didn't understand, but she explained. When she was young and ate at Grandma's house, when dinner was done, she picked up the dirty plates but told them to save their fork for dessert, because the best was yet to come.

This love poem speaks a true love story, the married man came to your life and you grew love with him but soon he left you to heaven leaving you for a platonic love in memory; well said, well done; thanks for sharing this. ALCREATOR

Lovely--nice to know you didn't act on the lust and kept a treasured friendship--romance poetry with refreshing twist--I can relate--though in my case (no marriage, just boyfriend) the friendship imploded due to triangular tension. Cheers. LIZ

No, I do have scruples. To act on the lust would not be fair. Thanks for your positive review

Your contest entry flows smoothly with great imagery and rhymes. I enjoyed reading it. The image choice is appropriate, too. I believe you are paying tribute to a man who you loved in a special way (platonic) even though he was married. It is nice to remember him as you have done.
Respectfully, Jan

You are correct, Jan. He was my platonic soulmate and it?s been a year since he passed. Thanks so much for your positive review

A very well-written love poem about a love that was not meant to be fulfilled on earth. The connection you made goes deeper and higher than earthly desires.
