Funny you would bring up squirrels. I've got one pestering me now. I have to admit, squirrels have a unique variety in their appearances. That squirrel you have there looks more like a rabbit.

A very well-written twenty syllable poem about a different looking Squirrel that are attacked by his own species because he has a white furry coat and doesn't look as they are used to.

And that can refer to all species. What a difference from what we normally refer to as a squirrel, but then to them, we probably look quite different with color and shape. LOL Nicely done

Very clever and astute observation, and a very appropriate photograph to illustrate your point! I'm not sure if I've every seen such a squirrel, which looks like it has a jackrabbit and chipmunk in its family tree! Good luck in the contest!
Thank you for writing and sharing, "Squirrel."

What a powerful poem, I enjoyed reading it. I like the way something is hinted at here, is it an analogy for people? Thanks for sharing this and have a great day

Hi Oliver, I tried to be subtle but you?re very astute! There is too much rejection all over. To me personally, visual rejection is very shallow. As ?they? say ?Don?t judge a book by its cover?
