Thank goodness for goggles. There is often a piece of equipment that can help us enjoy something we feared before.
The best part of your story is the example it shows of how sometimes when we think we are out of our depth in a situation, when we start to panic because we feel we can't do it, then just stand up to it. Face the fear and do it anyway - it will work out for the best. Often we have misjudged the situation and it is nothing to be afraif of anyway, especially with some help.

Some corrections:

reffered (referred)

"'deadly styles" (remove the single apostrophe at the beginning, leaving 2 as at the end.)

As I turned one more time on the lane, (it is more usual to say "in the lane" not "on the lane" in this context.)

Wow! You are so lucky, Iza. That would have been a shame for sure, if we lost you that silly way.

I'm glad all turned out well and this story sure deserves to win the prize, I think. Bless you, my friend. Bob

I understand your problem with the water- I, too, experienced a similar situation. I am so glad you overcame yours.

Panic attacks are terrible creatures!

Best of luck in the True Story Contest.

Nice little flash fiction post. This tight format creates good opportunities for tension and you make good use of it in describing this moment when you gulp in that water and lose sense of control and feel like you are drowning. It takes me back to my first times in the pool learning to swim. estory

Beautifully narrated described and well exposed in such a short telling story which leaves the reader curiously involved until the surprisely unimaginable conclusion which outlets the reader and does not know what to say or react. I did like it all! Great issue and unusual thought! I hope you did not hurt yourself too much in falling !

I love swimming with goggles, too. I love to snorkel and have done so in many places like Hawaii, Croatia, Us Virgin Islands, Alaska and Belize this January. Glad you can swim now

oh, I had to smile when reading your text. You must indeed have been terribly scared. And we all know, panic isn't good for us.
But it ended well, and at least we know all know how you learnt the art of diving. Best wishes, Ruth

To my mind, this is not one of your best pieces. Storyline is not very tightly crafted, and strange choice of picture - pool with animals. I was expecting some comment on this, so was left slightly bemused.

(reffered s/b referred; under water s/b underwater) Funny that you fell in love with the water realm after the panic attack even before you got goggles! Glad you're enjoying your swims. Cheers. LIZ

I enjoyed your story, Iza. It read well with a great story to tell. I felt as if I were there with you as you were swimming. I'm thrilled you overcame your fear and enjoyed the water from then on.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan
