It is not your usual stye to delve into the darker sides of humans .But you did it superbly. And such a cold and calculated act! At the end the show is cancelled and the police is waiting for him!
Hope you return to the site soon.

I rarely delve into the dark side. It was disturbing to find that I'd conjured such an evil character who so coldly committed this monstrous act. Fortunately, I was able to conjure a pair of cops to catch him.

As to my return to the site, no plans--I withdraw because I could no longer keep up with fans on two sites--I'm no longer an active member and thus cannot post new work, nor tweak existing pieces, but I am allowed to re-release prior work--such as this--if I pay the usual.

What an eerie horror tale. It is not good to want success or renown to such an extent, obviously. What you wish for and plan comes with such a heavy price... Glad to see you back here. Kate xx

That is a good soliloquoy, as it were. I was expecting a surprise ending, but it proceded along as he said it would and ending as he'd planned. Still, it was entertaining throughout and perhaps finding there wasn't a surprise ending ... was the surprise ending. I'm surprised this didn't take away the prize. Are you still doing anything on Medium? I submitted a piece I wrote here on Medium, but I don't know the turnaround time on GiaB. I don't know why you don't come back to FanStory.

I figured the surprise was that his plan backfired--performance cancelled and he got caught besides.

As to GiaB--RAF published ASAP--VS turnaround time used to be a few days, not sure his pace now.

This is a chilling tale you've shared with us. I am sooo sorry, I missed it the first time around. I hate when I do that. I enjoy your writing so much that I never should have missed it. Thank you for sharing it again.

Man's best-laid plans! Brilliant script. For all his planning. the performance was canceled and his scheme did not work as the police were waiting in the wings.
A true horror script as you keep your readers engaged throughout.
Best wishes and regards,
Mary

What a horror story! And it didn't work. No performance the next day - and two policemen waiting. How terrible for this to be based on truth! It's very dark indeed. But it's very well written, with plenty of detail, indicating his state of mind and extreme jealousy.

Chilling tale, dark as midnight

Oh the power of jealousy!

Eerily inspired by the brain death of Raphael
Schumacher...

Released from his "final performance" after seven days on life support.

(An accident, yet four were being investigated for manslaughter?)

(Of course I read the article!)

You do horror really well!

Beware of actors who say "I'd kill for that part!"

Some will...

Or have...

So glad you brought this forward!

Six shiny stars!

Karenina

(Of course, I went to read that aricke!)

As to that case--clearly, I'll have to look into it further--I hadn't realized about suspicion of others--manslaughter? (Negligence?) Intriguing to contemplate suicide disguised, given that the actor initiated changing the original death scene to a death by hanging.

It's an interesting twist... I couldn't find the reason for the manslaughter suspicion...

I will do so me more digging!

    Only Raphael knows for sure!

Wow! What a script. I am left wondering if it really happened or if Len is delusional and has lost grip on reality. Did you mean to have the text two different sizes?? I do appreciate the large font, but the ending is very large. I do not get how the visual is related to the script. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for stopping by, Sandra. I used the large font intentionally for emphasis. The image in itself is not particularly relevant, but I found it suitably creepy. Okay, it was an interesting an eerie story. I enjoy the Hitchcock and Edgar Poe's type of stories.

Professional jealousy makes a grim basis for this deadly tale, well told in capturing the planning and execution.

Correction in this line:
It isn't until after they cut down him down and cart him away
(remove first 'down')

A horror story indeed and you kept us hanging on here, but the Police are not fooled, and you made me smile as the following night's performance is cancelled! Ha ha ha, a horror with a little humour here Elizabeth, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
