This has all the elements of a flash story (tight story line, paucity of words etc.), and covers as requested the whole life, and even manages a couple of opinions of it. Right from the beginning I was hooked by the photograph that matches perfectly the title and life as a youngster. I would like just to vote for this, but fairness demands that I read all entries first.

Let me start by saying "Thank you for your service." I wish you had included more about your life as a whole, but I understand that for many veterans, their service WAS their life. Also, 150 doesn't leave a lot of room for "fluff". So again, I will just say "thank you for your service and good luck in the contest." Stay safe and healthy in these interesting times we are living in.
