Maybe a broken heart won't kill ya, but is sure will make you feel like it is trying to.
I think we have all been in love and had our hearts broken so this is easy to relate to. It seems very singable as well. Nice lyrics and a tune shouldn't be too hard to find to match it.

Thanx so much for those beautiful stars, W.J. -- songs are something I do rarely as they have to have a 'push' behind them... ;) :) Sorry I've been a bit AWOL lately - been packing up our house to get it ready to sell... but gonna spend some time here today! ;) Hope all's well in your corner of the universe - take care! ;) Yvette

Yep, abroken heart won't kill you but every one I had, killed a little part of me, until I had no feelings for giving my heart to another, for a long long time.
Really like your song and different chorus for each verse.

Thank you for the reminder in this song that a broken heart will not kill us. I admired your rhymes and varying choruses. The artwork helped to establish the mood for your lost love song. Sighs- Joan

Best wishes in preparing your house for sale and the ultimate process. That's one challenge I don't currently face. Be safe and well- Joan

Nice ikebana of feelings aka picture and feel well with the poem. I really like the chorus section, it's quite inspiring and optimistic :"But a broken heart won't kill ya
Though it'll change your point of view
The colors fade
To black and gray
Knowing dreams just don't come true
No, a broken heart won't kill ya
But I guarantee you this
Deep down inside
You'll think you've died
And you lose the will to live"
Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day.

I like this song. It has some great elements. My husband is a professional singer/ songwriter... that's what he's done for over 50 years. So, when I see a song, I ask him to look at it with me. The note that he gave was that the chorus was longer than the verse. He said you might think about breaking up the chorus and making some of it into verse. (Less is more) The song is good, keep going with it. He actually sang it. (A shorter version of it) It came out pretty good. - I like this a lot! I think it's a very good song. -January L.

Appreciate it, January, but sometimes we don't write to publish, we write for the outlet of feelings... :) Hope all's well in your corner of the universe - take care! ;) Yvette

Yvette... I didn't mean in any way to offend you. I hope I have not. I loved the song exactly as it was. We sang it and it was so pretty. Your talent is amazing. I hope to see much more. God bless you and your family. -January L.

Hello dear Yvette!
Damn!
You are one talented writer! No genre is too difficult or challenging for you to attempt and master!
But... I must admit, this song was incredibly sad for me to absorb. It's been a lifetime since I felt these selfsame emotions, but I certainly can relate...
Would love to hear your song sung!

Thank you for sharing!

This was totally awesome my friend. You painted such a descriptive portrait with these words that drew me in to feel the emptiness left from a broken heart. I remember so vividly and this piece brought those memories back of a young naïve me who thought there would be no life after my first love. Thankfully age and experience proved me wrong, and I now know that you must always choose to love. Thanks for sharing this sad but beautiful piece.

This was great Yvette, and I think I heard to tune rumbling in my head. It was a sad poem/ song but you addressed it very well. I do agree that one does not die from a broken heart but it can sorely tear one up. Well done.

You are so very welcome Yvette, well I guess Arizona is Arizona, although it has been triple digits for about 3 weeks and according to the new that is unusual until mid June or early July. Oh well, hot is hot lol.

Hey Yvette. That certainly is an interesting song title. I certainly understand the sentiment. I don't thingk there is anyone that hasn't experienced a broken heart.
There was a little fatalism in the lyrics: "
You'll think you've died
And you lose the will to live.
That's pretty tough. :~(

You need to write you some music for this.

Da Z :~)))

    You're welcome.
Nothing much happening here, just bathing in some of the ugly words coming my way for the last couple of posts.
I don't envy you. I don't know if I could ever sell a house and move again.
Early in my corporate career, My wife and I went to 19 house closings in 13 years. We closed on this house 35 years ago. No Mas. :~)))))
