This was a very interesting song in a similar poetic format. Even though I'm not the best singer myself, I think it would be a nice tune, even though the theme is quite a sad one.

We hope this is true but my aunt died two weeks after my Mother and I believe it was because her heart was broken by her death. Your words here are profound and honest Yvette, we heal our hearts over time when we start to see a bright future, a fine presentation and your words resonated with me, love Dolly x

If a love affair doesn't last the time, I guess it always ends in
"my vision's blurred
From the tears I've cried for you."
This rings so true, and is so sad. Your whole poem is excellent, and well-balanced.

Hooray for you dear Yvette!
This old hackneyed and misleadingly crude and pithy
sympathy and sarcasm "A Broken Heart Won't Kill 'Ya.."
is so real world/real love & proof that sometimes the contrary
is more true and devastating...leaving within, exactly the
kinds of collateral damage long term physical, mental, emotional
and psychological consequences and unseen 'deaths' in mind,
heart and soul ever after. May not outright kill you, but it certainly
does nothing good or redeeming for you either. Each one of those
invisible slaying effects and personal devestations in last two line phrases evokes eerie kind of instant replay and inescapable
images and descriptions of each segments, occurs and lingers
hauntingly within, actually a kind of cruelly reverberating slow death.
Totally awesome and right on about such sad and betrayal kind
kind of lovers and love rlationships. Often too humorously dismissed
and assesed as "Well a broken heart won't kill ya' ...and not believed
untill or unless it happens to them. Lots of 'unkilled' ones exist still!
(I sure hope you submit this heartahe song lyric to a good recording
music and lyric source, perfect sad love song for Country Music lovers
that would rock the charts in no time.Once put on a Demo and even
if Demo is played a few times on just simply country music radio
stations or this one set on CD/video combinaton would skyrocket
inno time!!! There are some very good music studio with all the
perfect song lyrics sound effects and all else included, at least give
it a try dear, am sure you would be excited and well worth the effort.
I've seen and heard some worse ones, but this one is top talent (and
a song lyric talent you apparently have too inaddition to all your others!)
You never cease to amaze me with your awesome way of igniting a
write that comes from some surprising but always stunning unexpected inner channelings within you and your muse, and bolts out with such
relavance and energy on a topic or life least explored or indulged in.

Thanks for sharing this one dear, loved it because it rings so damn true
and eerily haunting! And is MEANT TO BE SUNG and I did so.
Love, blessings, Ronni

Oh, Ronni -- your review really got to me: made me realize that I was at least mostly successful with this one. :) Songs are something I do rarely because they have to have a 'push' behind them to really make them impactful... and, well, this one wrote itself. Sigh. ;) :) I can't tell you what your comments mean to me - don't even know where to begin to 'reach' somebody that would even know what to do about getting this one 'sung', but it was so good to hear you say that you thought it could be. :) ;)
Sorry I've been a bit AWOL lately - been packing up our house to get it ready to sell... but gonna spend some time here today! ;) Hope all's well in your corner of the universe, my beautiful lady - would love to have tea/coffee if we lived anywhere near each other. ;) :) Take care of you and thank you again! ;) Yvette

Send me the music! I like the words. I can see Merle, Kenny Willie, or Charlie singing that to a line dancing crowd. in a juke joint or a concert hall. great lyrics (maybe a third career:)) Like the choice of art too:) Thanks for sharing. Steve

Your poem rolls along like lyrics - I do get a hint of tune and the tragic scenario is typical song territory.
I actually think a broken heart CAN kill some people (not me, apparently though Lord knows I have scars aplenty))

Dear Yvette,
A delightful departure from the norm., but I think I would appreciate it more if I could hear the tune played. It sounds sort of Country and Western, but I can't find a melody to fit. However, Elvis would be proud of the lyrics. Yahoo!

Sometimes there is no explanation for writings of the heart. It's sometimes like we can suddenly feel the pain and hurt others feel without experiencing the trauma ourselves. Writing is complicated.

I would have to hear this sung, but I will say these two lines seem clunky, like the rhymes are forced or something. Either way, here they are.

To hear you say that gone away
Are things that make 'us' worthwhile
