Ouch! You must inform your muse that there IS such a thing as Broken Heart Syndrome though, and while it rarely kills, it can...

All kidding aside, my friend, how are you? I'm not here a lot right now, preferring Zoom meetings at this awful time, and so on, but pc issues are discouraging too. I'm glad I stopped by today, though I won't be staying long. I wish I could hear you sing this lovely (sad) song. :) Beautiful, Yvette.

Thanx so much for the review and your inquiry, Dawn - sorry so late in responding... let's just say the song was written from the heart... ;) :) But she's getting better. :) Those bright stars are certainly a welcome smile! ;) Take care over there - Yvette :)

I don't know if you had a tune in mind. Mine worked just jfine. Idon't know what it is but it worked well. I love your chorus. It is perfectly placed. It could be a country song genre. This is a little off the topic, but I can't resist. What do you get when you lay a country song backwards? You get your car back, your farm back, your love back, your marriage back... Isn't that funny. Well written song. A+

So now I expect to see you on a segment of "Songland" on tv and I can proudly say, "Hey, I knew her when" :) Your talent never ceases to amaze me, Yvette. I personally can't carry a tune and my talent on timing when playing on the piano just leaves people shaking their heads and quietly leaving the room. Therefor, un precise meter is no problem for me. Something I can identify with :) Loren

These song lyrics, A Broken Heat Won't Kill Ya, are compelling as a 'somebody done somebody wrong song'. One imagines there's always a root to them, but hopefully one that has withered.

It must be nice to pick a tune right out off your head, give it moment to recall that feeling of dying from the one that went away. Yet some have died from a broken heart. It called roulette when you spin the chambers. :) Not bad, Yvette.

Thanx so much for those beautiful stars, Lady Sal -- it is definitely easy to find a 'melody' when you're immersed in an emotion... ;) :) Sorry I've been a bit AWOL lately - gonna spend some time here today... :) Hope all's well in your corner of the universe - take care! ;) Yvette

You are most welcome e. I've been having major chiropractic work done which had been painful. Today will be session three of four and then an evaluation. It's a lot of work to heal this and exhausting. It was nice to have such a beautiful written poem to review. Take care, me lady!

This is very well done. Despite never hearing it sung, I have the words stuck in my head already. I like that the rhymes were natural, instead of being forced, which is the bane of many songs and poems. The only thing I could see being improved are some of the metaphors. The world fading to black and gray is no longer as powerful because it is overused.

I do appreciate the tight theme of the song that the repeated lines in the chorus give, while you still varied each one.

I cant imagine writing a song! Wow, I love this but it's so sad! I would hope nothing and no one would have the power to steal the will to live. Great job.

Thanx so much for those beautiful stars, Marcia -- songs are something I do rarely as they have to have a 'push' behind them... ;) :) Sorry I've been a bit AWOL lately - gonna spend some time here today... :) Hope all's well in your corner of the universe - take care! ;) Yvette

My pleasure, always :) All is well here. I've been AWOL, too. Trying to get settled after the move. Ugh. Take care :)

Yvette,
Having had a broken hear, I understand your poem
completely. You write of the pain and losing the will to
live, the feelings can be suffocating.
It is a lot harder to go all in, on the next relationship.
Your poem will bring back many heart breaking memories.
Thank you for a very well written poem.
Stay well, Stay safe,
Richie

Even before I read your author notes (I usually read them first) I felt a Tune in the theme rather than a word. You obviously set the correct tone, for me at least. I was 8 years when I experienced my first broken heart. Can't blame her though, she never knew I cared. I was shy. Best regards.
