Astounding visual imagery in such a short poem. Good accompanying artwork, but not necessary. Good alliterations with trapped-terror and fragile-fears. Good resonance with m words and vowels. Nicely done.Good luck in the contest :)

Wow the picture was scary enough, the poem followed imparting more scary thoughts. I know I've felt like my brain was ready to explode more than once during the seclusion of this pandemic. You have aptly described the terror that fear can induce.

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about feeling trapped in our own homes, and unable to venture outside if it is not essential can drive us to craziness. I keep myself busy as much as I can not to be urged to go outside if it is not needed.

Your poem conveys the fear of being trapped within a persons own head very well. I have a friend who is finding our current situation extremely frightening, she suffers from bipolar disorder. Your words though few powerfully capture what many must be felling right now.

This evokes images, mostly of psychological torent. Not sure that was your meaning for it, but poetry has a way of meaning different things to different people. I really liked this one for it's expressiveness.

Trapped Amidst Terror

Hello my friend

Great 5/7/5 poem about the covid19 pandemic. Cool presentation. Good syllable count.

It's okay to go for a walk as long as you keep safe distance. You can also go to the store with a mask on. But I know what you mean.

A very sad 'fallout' of all this craziness is those that DO NOT do well in isolation... I dare say the number is much higher than many may imagine... :( ;( Thanx for sharing that truth that many do not realize... Take care! ;) Yvette

You captured the intense feeling of isolation and fear that too many people have sadly been left to experience during this pandemic. I truly wish there had been a more thoughtful and expansive approach with how it burst into the open with so much politics surrounding it--like a fire as your artwork so aptly illustrates. Some folks are truly oblivious to how close to tragedy many people live.

Great job K and something that I hope politicians consider before fanning the flames for personal gain.

Thank you for sharing the facts.

Gloria

You described the situation well -- "lonely, fragile minds implode" captures the feeling. I think the loneliness multiplies the fear as there isn't someone else to talk things out with. Best wishes in the contest!

This is a really excellent 5-7-5 poem.
To be grammatically correct, (and even stronger), the first line I think should be either 'trapped amidst terrors' or 'trapped within terror'. Personally I prefer the first, because it is the better match for the last line.
