Beautiful photo.
Your poem reflects many a black and white picture of families from the 1920s to the late 1950s. They are classic and each one a picture in time.
Beautiful Poem.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! Yes, my grandparents were born mid and late 1910?s, mother and father 1937 & 39. I love having these precious photos so I can share with my children, grandchildren and now great-grandchildren. Appreciate you enjoyed!! xoxo

Diana,
What a great family picture, your words the wealth
love a family can harbor. Barefoot boys and frilly dresses
on little girls define the day.
Your picture reveals the strength and unity of family ties.
There are a multitude of stories within that one picture.
Thank you for sharing.
Peace,
Richie

What a lovely photo of the past, it's always so nice to bring back memories from the past like this. Even if you weren't even a little twinkle in your dad's eyes then! :)) I enjoyed meeting your family, and it brought back a few of my own memories, the days of bare feet and fun. Well done, a lovely poem, and photo. :)) Sandra xx

My, what memories and nostalgia one photograph may trigger! As the cliche goes, a picture speaks a thousand words.

Although your poem was brief, it spoke a thousand words as well. I got to know something about your father and his cousin and your other family members. You brought us into your family's world, and I enjoyed the trip.

Keep writing fabulous poetry as this one. :)

Nice job on this poem. I like the sense of wonder you convey. It's interesting to look at pictures like these and think about what their life must have been like day to day. Good work, I look forward to reading more from you.

Thanks for the memories. I just went through several boxes of pictures from the past that reminded me of my age. The only thing left of me is pictures and words remembered. Keep writing. Best wishes.

It's always so interesting to look at how our ancestors lived their lives - a 'moment in time' captured here in this photo and brought to life in the poem - how different it all is today where life and its events are instantaneously beamed across the globe - thanks for sharing

I LOVE pictures like this. They always did look like they were just enjoying life as is. No one looked like they were trying to impress anyone else. It was just a more simple time. You must be around my age. My dad and mom were norm I'm 1949. I enjoyed this!!!

Ah! Free verse, my favorite. You chose a great frozen moment in time! The ole black and white photo freeze frame. "not rich-not poor" just sharing love . . . reminds me of my family SO very much. We always had what we needed, not in over abundance. I can relate to this poem and the photo. Well done!

You are so lucky to have such a picture of your family, and to know who is who. We have a single photo of my father with his mother (she died when he was ten) and we had to wait seventy years until relatives found it and gave it to my father. It was the only day I ever saw him cry.
