This makes me so sad. Do we really overkill our writing? Probably, by writing too much too quickly, and over-revision, both of our own work and that of others, which we review from misguided intentions in both cases.

Thank you so much for your review, Katherine. We strive to pin our thoughts and observations down in words and only ever come close. I'm delighted that you thought this deserved a sixth star. All good wishes, Tony

Wanderlust is a poem that one enjoys reading. I did, to the utmost. Some so-called poetry is worded as if it is a puzzle, intent on leaving the reader confused and feeling inadequate. Thumbs up Mr. T.

Thank you, Glenda. I'm delighted that you found this poem communicated clearly. I agree with you that there is much that goes under the guise of poetry that is incomprehensible. All good wishes, Tony

Using that stunning egret as a metaphor for the words on the page that up and fly away with you in chase, works beautifully, Tony. How often that happens to writers, is no man's guess. I know it regularly happens to me. Then, once you have caught those escaped words, so they chew up all the other words and end up dying too. This is a beautifully worded, clever, lovely rhyming quatrain poem, and a real pleasure to read at this time of the morning to start my day. Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Thank you for these lovely comments, Sandra, and the accompanying stars. Delighted that you enjoyed reading this poem.
I fear that I'm well behind with my reviewing at the moment. I've read and enjoyed the last couple of chapters of Eric's adventures and am still thoroughly enjoying them.

Even though I'm at home all day under lock-down, I'm way behind, too. I work better when I'm busy and dashing from one job to the next. Catch when you can, my friend. Have a lovely day! xx

This is a beautifully allegorical piece of writing. I love how you stick with the extended metaphor of the birds in your poem. The rhyme scheme is clearly well-chosen and is incredibly effective.

Yay! Look what I had for you, mate. This was a great poem and I enjoyed rollicking along in the rhyme a format. Sometimes I have unknowingly down a quatrain and it is only when a reviewer tells me I know what I did! No spags and a great picture. I put up an early chapter of my biography, again. Rewards are probably gone now sorry. I did a slight edit to my story on the trip to Tasmania
