Very ironical and satirical, very clever wit. Unfortunately some people do have this sense of entitlement, and have no idea what Jesus meant when he said to love the Lord with all one's heart (not one's own self), and to love one's neighbour! For some, God is just some-one one else to manipulate for their own purposes. Sad but true. Clever writing. Provokes thought because of the humour and wit.

I relished the writing of this piece; I love to channel unappealing characters and let them spew! So pleased you enjoyed this. Can you see my new silver-haired pic? For some unfathomable reason, it does not appear on my laptop, but I can view it on another. Helen can't see it either. Wondering if others can.

No, your hair still looks pink. I was told it sometimes takes a day or two to change - but I really can't see why that should be the case.

Tom told me I had to clear my browser (?)--didn't help. I cleared everything possible via system commands. Ironic that my old previously owned never-cleared laptop shows the new pic. It's been at least 5 days--I doubt we'll ever see it.

Oh boy! Hope you doubled up on your lightning rods and got the extra sturdy screens to keep out locusts and stuff...

It's not NICE to fool...

(Oh, wait, that was mother nature!)

This is a holy skewering of the sanctimonious pseudo-worshippers who wouldn't know a psalm from a palm...

I lean towards George Burns as "God" smirking as this oh so blessed 20ish young man gave his entitled testament...

Pretty sure we should all have the grace to have a sense of humor...

Otherwise we're (pitch) forked!!

Hysterical!

You are too funny! "God: preferably played by Morgan freeman" cracked me up. I had to remind myself at the miscarry part that this was satire and that is a sure sign that it indeed did it's job!

I found the character to be interesting and engaging. The dialogue seemed natural. The character draws you into the story. Overall a well-crafted piece. Thanks for sharing.

This is comical and unfortunately how some people actually think. Well written, as always. I enjoyed this!
I think you have a typo here: of Jesus, He forgives us all our sin, provided we
All is too repetitive:
It seemed so unfair that with all my training all these years I shouldn't

What a lovely ssssssurprise! I'm off to scratch the superfluous ALL.
reply by the author on 04-Jan-2021
I got rid of ALL the ALLS to be consistent, albeit the repetition had been intentional both within and across sentences to emphasize that he is a tiresome hyperbolic whiner. I value your input; thus I elected to tone the narrator down a notch rather than come across as a careless writer!
reply by kmoss on 04-Jan-2021
I think his personality shines through without ALL of the extra emphasis. Just an opinion though.

I suppose Christian are pretty good targets, despite the fact they are human, failure is a normal thing for all humans, but this boy was more a victim of his own poor judgement. Well done line, clever post. Blessings Roy

Well, unfortunately, there are probably those who claim to be Christian (I suspect that Trump says he is) but there seems to be no change in character after meeting the Almighty. But it's a slippery slope if we start inspecting other people's piety. It's best just to work on loving God and letting Him change me.

A wincefully witty skit.

Still, he has, nonetheless, worked wonders. (He) since you capitalized references to God elsewhere.

Trump will say whatever it takes. (Per my satire script Political Follies--which you read months ago--Trump's monologue is titled: Which Way the Wind Blows.)

Thanks for stopping by--you are quick! This is a repromotion--pleasant surprise (to me) that you hadn't already read it.

It's a satire! Need to keep reminding myself XD

The speaker is definitely not a good Christian. He wishes the worst for people and rejoices when it happens. In Malayalam (Language of Kerala, India), we have saying which translates to "Do your work well, atleast half of it, and God will take care of his half. Here, the narrator definitely doesn't care about his half. Eagerly waiting for God to click the Karma swicth.

Thanks for sharing this funny piece :)

I like the repetition of "it seemed so unfair that..." and "The Lord made...." I found myself anticipating the events that followed both, so much so that the script ended long before I wanted it to. If this ever made it to the theater, I picture God (preferably Morgan Freeman, but not a strict requirement) just standing off-stage and glaring at His son for the duration.

I'd honestly like the guy if I didn't hate him so much" made me laugh out loud, so thanks for that. It made up for how painful it was to read about this guy almost failing French (I took it for four or five years, so I was more than a little dedicated).

I appreciate your enthusiasm, Kenneth. I love your idea of Morgan Freeman as God--I will put your suggestion in the footnotes! Thanks for stopping by. Cheers. LIZ

    Done!

    Footnote addition:

Credit to Kenneth Gagne for his clever idea: God (preferably played by Morgan Freeman) would be standing off to the side silently glaring as His "son" speaks.

OMG! [Oops, sorry] That is funny! The irony is perfect --that the writer doesn't see how un-Christian his thoughts and expectations of what God is and does. The voice is perfect...so certain and moralistic. Nicely done!
