Another really enjoyable chapter. The news of your impending motherhood being a lovely way to end it. The job scenario sounded like an ongoing nightmare, but at least your husband got his priorities right when he found out you were pregnant. I just hope the financial implications didn't come back to haunt you!
No nits that I can see.

Thanks again for reading another chapter. I did have some problems with my job relationship. I couldn't understand why men and women couldn't be friends without getting involved in other ways.

Finally you're having a baby, a bundle of joy. So glad to hear that you could stay home and stay healthy. Your husband said that you didn't have to work. I bet you had a big sigh!

After my first ventures into the working world, I was relieved to be able to stay home for a while.

Many times you went out in the middle of the night to stock up when the urge was strong. --very funny. No parallels here. Birth control pills were out by then.

Wow! You are catching up. Maybe you'll get to the two still paying after all. Thanks again.

Your first couple of job experiences are not so good at all I must say! Both pretty ordinary or even bad in their own way! Did not like Guy as a character at all...his job sure makes him less desirable but it was mostly the drunken call for me...such a shame!
Pregnancy did come at the right time for you I suppose! You had been struggling with the jobs you didnt want and it was starting to mess you up mentally!

I didn't do very well at those jobs and the characters were less that wholesome. Yes pregnancy came at the right time for me. Things will change. Thanks for reviewing and I do appreciate your comments.

Beth, a lovely six-star chapter. You make this "talking to your husband" such a feast to read all the time, I can follow you and him so effortlessly. You are to me a born storyteller, and I envy you a bit.
I only found ONE tiny glitch: "...began to count the days..." (not: begin).
I will follow this also in the next episodes.

Thank you so much for the six star review and for you wonderful comment. I'm flattered that you think I'm a born storyteller. I find your stories to be wonderful and you have no reason to envy me. Thanks also for finding the spag.

Whew - that job history was like "out of the frying pan into the fire!" So glad you got out of both of those jobs and welcomed the lifelong job of parenthood. Thanks for sharing. I thought it was so cute that your husband went out at night to buy condoms in a restroom! I never knew they had those there.

Yes, I've had all sort of problems on jobs over the years. I guess it's good thing my husband found that restroom. I might have had children a lot earlier. He wouldn't be caught purchasing feminine products either. Thanks for the review and comments.

I am sure it was not fun worrying about your husband or fending off unwanted attention from a co-worker. I think a lot of women were not prepared for these situations, only because they were naive about them.
No doubt many readers can relate to your story.
Good writing.

You are right. I was totally naive and I had a long way to go before I learned how to deal with it. I don't think men of today can get away with as must as they did back then. Many felt it was expected of them and it made women who didn't know how to handle it very uncomfortable. My problem got worse as time went on. Thank you for the review and comments.

Glad I still have SIXES for you. Still a great story. Just a couple of spags this time. Keep em coming! Guy often played pop(u)lar love songs our background is running out again.

i think I've said once before but I love biographies, it puts a perspective on one's life that you probably haven't considered on the way, I notice in my married daughter's lives, that one doesn't consider at the time. We lots of mistakes when we're young, but it puts whiskers on our experience. Well done Beth, good reading, blessings, Roy

I couldn't wait to have a baby. My sisters had babies and I was absolutely in love with them. Jim didn't want me to work at all after we were married. You had an active life so far. I wonder if you were happy as a stay at home mom?
I am enjoying your story, Beth. Nancy:)

Thank you so much for the review and lovely comment. I wasn't sure I wanted one until I got pregnant and I decided I definitely did want one.I'd never been around babies.
