We seem to go about everyday life trying to traverse unknown terrain in good and bad weather, all the while knowing the destination is the end for everything we love and share.

Wow! You went back a long way. I didn't know when I started this I would still be writing it. I always thought If I could relive my life, I'd be willing to do it all again the same way. I guess this is my way of doing that. I written a saga.

I just joined the ranks of many giving your writing the desired spot it deserves. Thanks for speaking about what so many widows feel, and yes, I love the song, "Aint it funny how time slips away." For us older folks that is such a true statement.

What a beautiful prologue to Remembering Yesterday! Apparently it's been here for over a year, but I never read it before. I'm so happy that you decided to promote it... I had no idea that you were so recently widowed. You and Evan were together for a very, very long time -- for almost as long as I've been alive! Beth, you had such a happy and successful marriage, in so many ways, that I do believe that you were as close as you could be, to being the perfect mate for him.
Just a few spags and suggestions here:
Elvis was singing an old Brook Benton song,"Ain't It Funny How Time Slips Away"

The words rang so true because I'm realizing more now that I'm getting older ...

Your loss is so recent, that you must really miss him terribly; especially, considering the number of years you spent together. You accomplished so much as a couple, and the division of labor seemed almost seamless at times; your household sounds like it was often a well-oiled machine (with a few road bumps along the way, as you've described them in your colorful chapters).
I may have said this before, but I believe that having God at the center of your marriage was an important key to its happiness. It's lovely to read about how you first started out, and how you nurtured and worked at building a love that lasted a lifetime.

Thank you so much, Mary Kay. Actually, I hadn't intended to promote this. I was trying to promote a new chapter but I hadn't realized I was on the prologue. I'm glad it worked out that way because it brought this us to a Best of Best level. Things often work like they are supposed to. I appreciate your review and suggestions.

You're very welcome, Beth! It's strange sometimes, the way things work out! I did wonder why you chose to promote it now, before the two-year anniversary, when the promotion gets other perks (even though I was happy that you did), but now I understand.
Yes, it did get to the All Time Best level, so Congratulations!
I so enjoyed reading the opening chapter of your story. Love, Mary Kay xoxo

You've probably noticed but there are two more chapter you haven't read. I'm not sure one of them is still paying. buet don't feel obligated to read the.

Thanks for letting me know, Beth. It's always fine for you to remind me, because I enjoy reading your story. I will probably get to it later -- even though there's no obligation (but thank you for saying that :-). I didn't realize that I was missing the promotion on the first of the two chapters, but that's okay. I sometimes read stuff for 2 cents! It balances out. I don't have $900 in FS dollars like you did (which is very impressive), but I'm almost halfway there.
Seriously, you can remind me when you have new chapters, and I promise I won't feel obligated.
God bless you, my friend!

Written straight from the heart, I think, with candour and honesty- the pain of loss, inevitably peeking through the memory. But what a memory, of a wonderful marriage and life together, which does not of course mean there were never disagreements or differences. The final lines of the final paragraph are so disarmingly honest - wonderful tone. Thanks for sharing such private memories.

Thank you so much for the review and nice comments. It is the prologue to a much longer story, where I start with when I first met my future husband and is still continuing. Only the later chapters are active.
Comment from Carol Hillebrenner
This is a lovely tribute to your husband. It's interesting that you didn't fall madly in love, but let it grow. Probably the best way to fall in love. I'm sure your children will appreciate it.

Thank you for reading this. I didn't mean to promote it as it was the prelude t0 the book. I was trying to promote a new chapter and did it accidently but I'm glad you read it.

This had some really poignant moments in it. When you are at the hospital and you kiss your husband for the last time, you speak of not knowing it would be the last time. Its also hard to hear how the doctors didn't tell you your husband was dying, and that you are standing there looking at your husband not knowing what he was thinking. We have that powerful sense of him slipping away out of your embrace. A lifetime of love and family, all reduced to this last poignant moment. Nice attention to details made the scene come alive and this has a wonderful sense of listening in on a private conversation. estory

Thank you so much for reviewing this. I accidentally promoted it when I was trying to promote a new chapter to the book. This one is sad. The rest of the book is more about our life together. I appreciate your rcomments.

Are you starting a new book? I read portions of your other one and found it to be interesting. Did you get it published? Good luck with this new project.

Beth, I decided to root out the beginning of your story and I am so glad I did. This foundation of your book is exceptional and it is the HOOK you need to draw someone's interest. You are a fine portrayer of feelings and I would say here that reading your book, to date, has been a very enjoyable experience. Your children will love it.

My dear friend, Sandra Mitchell, recommended your book to me, and I'm so glad she did. A widow myself, I talk to my late husband often, so I know exactly where you're coming from. I look forward to reading the the rest before 2021!
