Hi Bob! Congratulations! I'm so very excited for you!!! I'm not sure if I'll ever get that far, but I certainly have come a long way, thanks to you and others like you. I have a long way to go and have a full - I don't want to say edit when it's going to be more like a rewrite in some places I'm sure, especially in the beginning - to go.
I tell all of the new people I come across, that are like me when I came here, not to be discouraged if they get a long critique. I tell them that it's one of their best learning tools... that and reading/reviewing. You have taught me so much, more than I learned in any class, and I will be forever grateful.
I'll see you around the forum and good luck with the new book! :)

I'm a lover of mystery stories, so I'll be sure to follow. Will be working on it. I like your tone in this. Sometimes the successful writers begin to take on an attitude. I agree that fanstory is a wonderful place to be for pre-editing and proofreading before publishing or even simply before a contest deadline. I love all the nit pickers who catch all my spags. I wish newspaper editors were as conscientious about the job they are paid to do.

historic fiction.

What a great 'thank you' letter this is, and although I did not enter on the FanStory scene until 2015, I have been a fan of all your work since then. I have always valued your helpful criticism, and appreciated your honesty when you ceased reviewing my novel on the grounds that fantasy wasn't your thing.
That one is shortly to end (in mid February) and I have planned another novel that is not fantasy, called 'The Maid of the Mill', which should start appearing here in mid February.
Of all your prose writing I think I enjoyed 'Falling up the Stairs' most, as Cleve and his exploits was not really 'my thing', probably because I am a Limey. Nevertheless I found the struggle interesting and educative.
It was good to see your name in my 'in box' once again, and I look forward to seeing it with greater frequency in future.

I am so happy to hear all about your success that has stemmed from this site. I am new to the whole aspect of putting my own writing out in the world for people to read and critique.
