This is a wonderful ode to a loved one lost in the 9/11 attacks. This shows the affects it had on the people left after the attack. It also honors all first responders that save a lot of people and some who lost their lives doing it.

My, this is an older post. Somebody's been in my portfolio. I'm pleased you were inspired and touched by this. I wrote it in just a few minutes. This day will never be forgotten.
Sending you my best today and many thanks for the kind review,

I like to go back and see past posts. It surprises the poet. I have decided to just go through the pix this group and review one of their poems .
You are right it will never be forgotten.
You are most kindly welcome

Absolutely beautiful! I am in this club and haven't even begun to get time to work with this picture yet. You have done it proud, my friend. Moving, intense, loaded with the appropriate, respectful emotion that we cannot begin to understand. (or at least, I cannot!)
Great job!

Your poem resonates very well with your club name - Patriots that gave their life for the well-being of the others. I really liked this part"Their first response
was selflessness,
not me or mine,
but ours.
They donned themselves
in courage"
thank you for sharing

A very touching tribute to a tragic scene that gripped the world and will forever be a page in history - 9/11. This poem recognizes those lost and the ones that also gave their life in trying to help. Forever thankful and forever reminded. ~DD

When people came together to become one was a sad event, Sally. Down here by the border the clouds of pain could be felt. Everyone was praying and many were crying. You penned a poem to not forget those that died. I thank you for your patriotic soul. The only thing that one should forget is the hatred after that. Thank you for sharing.

I agree with you. I think that selflessness is real love, unconditional love. Jesus is our prime example of this. When He could have thrown in the towel and let us all go to hell, He didn't. He said: "If this cup could pass from me, nevertheless, not my will, but thy will be done." That dreadful day along with 9-11 should always be remember. Those responders did what none of the rest of us did. They sacrificed themselves for the cause of others in many life and death situations. I really like this Sally and enjoyed reading this inspirational and well written work. Well done!

This is wonderful, Sally. I find it very difficult to comment at all about the horrendous events of 9/11-- I am grateful to be alive, and so very sorry for those who suffered (and still do, undoubtedly). Your words speak for me perfectly.

Thank you so much for the excellent review and kind comforting words. Yes, many have gone on or have died from the result of breathing in all that toxic dust. It?s made more difficult today by a congresswoman and others denying it even happened! Sickening.

I had to come back to comment about what you said about people denying it even happened--that's like those who say the Holocaust didn't happen. IMO, they're worse than nuts-- they're guilty by association.
