A great story of several military folks/personnel. This could be a book in the making. So enjoyed reading your story. What happens to Ms. Coleman in your story lines? Doe he give her a contract for a year?

Oh, Rosemary, I'm so very glad you enjoyed the Major and company... and, beyond what you've read here, I hadn't thought further.... although when asked earlier by a number of folks about it, it would definitely be a yes... :):) Thanx for the review! ;) Yvette

For some reason I very much life the feel of this sentence: "He let an easy smile draw across his lips as he looked at the expectant faces before him." This story has an easy-going pace, no one getting shot, no one lying, no one plotting against each other, no one cheating on the other, no violence. It is just a nice everyday interaction between friends and acquaintances. Even there is no drama it is just a nice story. I am voting for this one.

What a shame this missed the contest. I really enjoyed reading it.

Just a couple of glitches:

It was good to meet you, Lieutenant," she spoke as she hurried away, - speech marks missing at beginning.

"For what?" She asked as Richard shut the door - lower case for 'she'

"I'm Richard Driscoll the owner of" - he paused, - comma after 'Driscoll'

Cheers
Judy

I did enjoy reading it. I guessed the Major was a ghost right away, but I didn't see that ending coming. I even thought for a moment Richard might be dead. Too bad you missed the contest. This would have been a contender.

I loved, loved, LOVED this! It has everything that could possibly fire up my romantic side, and it's flawless (as usual with your writing). What an awesome story. This should be the start of another novel!!! Rich characters, wonderful pacing, terrific descriptions...*sigh*... MORE!

This ghost story leaves me wondering how many spirits we have. You make a very strong showing for civil war era 'team' and a modern era of future love interests. The cheeky dialogue and banter between the Major, Brighton, and Chastity endears them to the reader.
No one is ever scared and no one says boo.
As I write this I realize, of course, that Richard would likely have no infirmities if he were dead.
A neat story that drew me in and left me feeling good about this Topper-esque situation.

Yvette, this is marvelous! You moved from mysterious to AHA! very cleverly, and of course, finished with the reader's smile at the suggested "real" ending to the story.
well done. I really enjoyed it.

My favorite nephew has had one broken engagement and one marriage that ended in divorce after 10 months. Where is SHASTA? My nephew needs the help of the Civil Cleaners clan.
This is such a well written, creative piece. It's an uplifting ghost story. Sorry you missed the deadline. You would have won for sure.

Oh, dear....I fear there may be some bad choices involved in that one... :/ :/ (kinda like a couple family members of mine...ugh). But, perhaps some old-fashioned dedication and living would do them some good, yeah? ;) :) Have no idea where Shasta is...and I know it doesn't help that it's all in the blonde's crazy brain! ;) LOL! I am so very glad that you enjoy Major and his 'team', MQ.... they were quite a fun write! ;) :) Thanx for those wonderful stars, ma'am -- and stay cool down there..... it's already hotter than usual here! :) Yvette
