This is so fun I can't even believe it. Oh my, Lisa May. I own a industrial embroidery company of which I am strictly the figurehead now due to eyesight. I love all these sewing puns. I was laughing my head off! (An industrial embroidery machine section is called "a head."
I need to show this to my staff. They will love it.
Always sending you my best,
Sal xo

How fascinating that you own an industrial embroidery company! I hope your staff enjoy this silliness as much you did and I did writing it... and I am not even one who enjoys sewing!

Hahaha.
You had me in stitches by incorporating all of those sewing/seamstress terms in your very clever story, Lisa.
The way you've woven them into this tale shows great originality and imagination.
Bravo, I really enjoyed the read.

I was wondering if blokes would appreciate that silly story, and your review has proven that inventive writing can find an audience. Dean, thank you so much for this generous rating.

    You're very welcome, Lisa.
    I appreciated it. ... :-)))

That does it. No more vacation time in Australia for you. Come home this minute and snap out of this ragged, unseamly state you're in.

I am unraveling here without my fan story overdose every day... it had become more than a mere 'fix', so I am clutching at sneaky time to get online. Having to fit in with 2 other people who talk all the time (and even expect ME to talk to them!!) is a real tug of time-spending.
I am an ungrateful wretch. Read between the lines: I am having a great time here, but want to write as well.

Oh, I read it loud and clear!! FanStory will wait patiently for you after you return home. But your Sister Time is only now. (Not to sound like your Jewish Mommie, of course...) xo

My sister is an artist and probably restless to finish the painting on her easel, so we are both in an agitation of sisterly bonding while also wanting to withdraw and create.

I can understand that! Do you take a few hours of "creativity time" every day, then?

Haven't got a system sorted yet... I am with another NZ friend who hasn't been to these parts so we are being tourists as well... borrowing my sister's car and going places to give her time to herself then other times I stay up later by myself. It's rather full-on with 3 people when I am so used to living alone, as is my sister. We are having to adjust.

Got it. That is quite tough. I can understand what you're saying.

I wish I could show this to my sister...she's an avid seamstress and smocker. This is priceless and deserves a 6, but I've none left to give! I hope you get it from someone. Very clever!

Thanks for this appreciative review, Carla. That you said it was a 6 is a delight to me.

Ha, ha. I love this. Very original, and very funny in places. Although, not being the least interested in needlework and all related things, I fear I've missed some of the jokes. Pity me.

Well done. And thank you for providing a nice start to my day :)

Thank you so much! What a terrific review from a non-needleworker. I couldn't care less about sewing, myself. I am a klutz unless it is sewing a button on, and even then the needle goes in me more often than in the fabric.

This is ridiculously clever. Loved every stitch. Again, it totally deserves a sixpack, so I keep the updates open. Kate Winslett would be proud. I am one of the few peeps I know who loved THE DRESSMAKER. DJ

Terrific review, thanks. Add me to your exclusive group of peeps who loved 'The Dressmaker'. That scene at the footy match when she turned up and the lads got distracted was priceless. Kate Winslett is wonderful.

A very well-written humorous story about the seamstress who was under suspicion of being a crook while she was only trying to make a living with all her needles and scraps of material.
