I didn't think of pool being a child's sport. It use to be at the bowling alley where I grew up... But it was a like blue collar-singles-afterwork thing; drinking beer and playing some rounds. It could be an everybody in the family game, especially if there's a table at home.
Great author notes. Excellent work :)

Thank you Alicia. I like that about bowling. I am lucky to have a small pool table in my basement.

Tom,
You know there's also a lot of physics involved. *smile* I like that part of it, too. I do love pool, though I don't get to play too often, anymore. I grew up with a table in the house, but now.... nope.
Thanks!

With sincere thanks for presenting this very uncommon style of poetry and doing so with such excellence in coloration and packaging in all dimensions. I have no suggestions to improve this lovely work and surely thank this fine author for a truly rare read! HIS GRAYNESS; Vance

These short forms that require so many syllables per line are, to me, somewhat
hard to make flow smoothly. Your does--while making a point about educational
methods that might surprise some.

I love playing pool and as you state in your message the kids learn geometry while playing and they don't even know they are learning.

A very well-written mirror Cinquain and children are like spunges when we teach them things while we play with them. Every knew skill they learn make them more and more equipped for life.

I was always told that success at snooker (or billiards or poool for that matter) was the sign of a misspent youth. Your little piece here proves that educational matter can be found in the most unlikely places. I wish all the many writers of of syllabic shape poems could read this. i am fed up with being told that the rules for these things say nothing about the eventual shape of the poem. This, together with your notes shows the level of work that should go into this genre of poetry. That is why this is worth a six.

That is my pet pieve too. Can't stand sloppy, lazy Nonets and Etherees. Appreciate the six.

An interesting way of learning for children. The words are accurate, to the point, the thought clearly conveys your message. Well done.

I grew up with a pool table but never really thought about the geometry involved in the game. We had it in our attic and sometimes a ball would fly off the table, down an opening and we'd have to reach for it! I hole in one? Maybe! Cute grand kids and nice job with the syllable count and conveying words regarding playing pool, it is a school!
