Hi Treischel,
BRAVO!!!
I love writing that addresses societal concerns and you nailed this one!
Very well stated and I concur: Adults must teach by example!
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the social commentary in the Dactyl Poem and your eye-catching photograph. I admired your cadence and regular lines. A "love swap" is a clever notion. Cheers- Joan

Catalectic dactylic is not often seen but fully dactylic is almost non existent in English. The end a line on two unstressed syllables would be quite a challenge. Are you up for it, Tom?

Abdolutely. But only for one stanza, or I might get a headache.

Go for it then.

Your poem addresses a problem that is just getting worse. I really believed that as a society, we were becoming more tolerant and compassionate she wanted. I must say my hopes have been dashed over the last several years.when people in high places cannot model appropriate behavior oh, it's difficult to expect the younger generations to learn it. Thanks for speaking out.

What a timely piece and message.
This poem really brings home the message that reflects are state of being in these troubled times. Your author notes also brought home and helps to remind readers that this state of being crosses all levels.
Great.

An excellent poem! Like you eloquently stated, bullying is, in fact, everywhere ... schools, on-line, at work, on T.V., etc.
I agree with your author notes!
On behalf of children I am well acquainted with, I have met with both teachers, school administrative staff and school board members to no avail. Fires me up, it does! Hurts the innocent.
I am always learning something new when reading your poetry. I am definiteley a newbie at writing, and all the different forms and structure of poetry you use fascinate me.
By the way, I love your photograph. That's a great shot you took :)

Thank you Gale. It riles me up too. Glad you liked the poem, the format, and the photo. That was my grandson, Jeremy, hamming it up.

How true, bullies are everywhere and many are using social media to hide behind. It's cliche but we must take a stand, it has to start somewhere. Great piece of work for such times we live in. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Malerie. I think the internet has made it worse. I stay off Twitter now. It has become a cesspool.

Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your poetry. I can't comment on whether or not the meter is correct. My brain will not interpret meter. However, I liked the subject, and I enjoyed the flow.
Perhaps, when I finish this trilogy, I will take a 'poetry break,' and put more effort into learning these skills,

Thank you Patty. It sort of like riding a bike. It seems hard at first, but once you get it, it becomes easy. Good luck.

In my humble opinion few children learn to be bullies by watching what comes for the top in government, more like they
learn it in their homes from, moms, dads, sister and brothers.

Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written dactyl poem about bullying. It seems to be the sickness of today. There are everywhere opportunities for bullies to prey on others to make themselves feeling better about themselves.
