Before I met my husband, a boyfriend dumped me in an email. It was a good thing because I met my husband. This is an excellent poem that tells a modern tale and your smooth use of rhyming words adds to the impact of the poem.

Thank you so much, Elaine, for a great review. I'm glad that guy "dumped" you in the email too, which enabled you to meet and marry your husband.
Thanks again, and my best to you.

Connie,
First of all, a personal trainer?? You go, girl!!! I'm so proud of you!!!! YAY! Second, this was fun but so horribly true. I'm really glad Sue got what she had coming. Nyah! Thanks!

Thanks, Robyn, for a great review. Yep, I have a semi-personal trainer, only because I have scoliosis and osteoarthritis, but it doesn't keep me down! I have two little grandchildren I have to keep up with, so I refuse to give in to any pain or discomfort. I want to be a "cool" grandma for as long as I can.
So good to hear from you.
Thanks again.
Connie :)

This skillfully-written poem tells a story that demonstrates how
impersonal and cold some people have become. I love the way the poem
ends. She didn't deserve to hear back from him!

This kind of break up is the method of a coward. You should always break up face to face or at least on the phone, voice to voice. It seems she changed her mind, but too late. It seems like turnabout should be fair play here.
Keep writing

This very well rhymed poem tells a story to describe the modern way of the dear John letter. There have always been cowards, I guess. It broke my heart when a longtime boyfriend broke up with me in my teens, by sending his friend to tell me. Modern technology just gets used in the same way that old methods were.

Hi there,
Oh, the timing. Sue really needed to be sure she was done before walking away in such a harsh way.
You are right. Today's technology allows people to be incredibly rude and cruel. I've heard about divorces and separations being handled in emails and texts.
I just can't imagine.
Thank you for sharing your story in a poem.

I liked your poem a lot Connie. It does seem like no one wants to take time to talk anymore. Short texts seem to be the order of the day. My grandchildren seldom look up from their I phones. I find it disgusting. You had a personal trainer? How come? Have a great day! Nancy:)

Thank you, Nancy, for your feedback and for that precious gold star review. You asked why I have a personal trainer.
I discovered a few years ago that I have scoliosis. Between that and osteoarthritis, I try really hard to keep in good shape so I can keep up with my grandchildren. Twice a week I meet with three other women about my age, and we have a trainer who focuses on our ailments. She is fantastic. I will soon be 72, and I have to work extra order to maintain any kind of fitness.
It has certainly interfered with my FanStory participation. Sitting for a long time at my computer does a number on my knees. I do miss being here more often.
Thanks again, my dear FanStory friend.
Hugs,
Connie

Yes, I understand. At 83 I find it hard to sit here for very long. My lower back and knees, neck and hands. Pretty much everywhere. LOL You go girl. Hugs. Nancy:)

Hi Connie :)
It does seem to be the way to drop unpleasant information these days doesn't it... I find it both harsh and gutless.
I enjoyed your poem though! Nicely rhymed with an easy flow.
Well written and entertaining as always.
Best wishes. Debra :)

This is superb. Now it's her turn to cry over him. She should have talked to him about her feelings. They could have take a break to see what they were missing. But she gave him away, and another lucky woman grabbed him. Nicely done! :)

Thank you so much, Phyllis, for a great review and for that shiny six-star rating, something I sure didn't expect. I had just read something the other day about how some couples argue and communicate via text, while living the same house and sometimes even sitting in the same room! Sad, isn't it!
Thanks again, my friend. Hope all is well with you.
