I am a new member so I didn't know Michael or his poetry. I have been reading other people's tributes to him and am getting a real sense of his nature... especially through your gentle offering.

I did not know Michael that well, but my few dealings with him left me a good impression of the man. He kept his temper and a level head through a life as bumpy as most. Thanks for reading and reviewing my Dahquain poem.

This is a lovely tribute to Michael. He was a wonderful person, kind, appreciative and very talented. He touched all of us who were privileged to communicate with him. I like your alliteration in this poem. Your imagery is vivid. Nice writing.

I have to admit the Dahquain and its repeating identical words was a challenge to keep from sounding like a parrot. Thanks very much for reading and reviewing.

'twas Krauss's song, I'll Fly away
and so he did, he flew away.
You did a good job using the same word twice, esp in the lines above.
I found the song on your profile. One of my favorites too. Who could not like it? :)

The Dahquain poetic form calls for using the same word in the last lines of each stanza and the couplet. Not something I plan to do again...but this poem seemed to fit the form rather well. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

A very well-written dahquain poem and tribute to Michael. Every person on FanStory mention his helpful nature, and no one has a bad word to say about him, my opinion he was an angel that we all need to know before he was called back.

The Dahquain is a tough one for me, I can't end lines with the same word without sounding like a parrot...Michael assisted me with pointers on the Fanstory software more than once...without sounding like a know it all...thanks for reading and reviewing.

Good evening to you, LIJ Red
What a lovely, hearty poem, dedicated to a much-loved member of the site. Like many of us here, he will be missed dearly.
Clearly, he made an impression on you as he did with all that got to meet him.
lovely
kind regards

Michael assisted me a time or two with the technicalities of Fanstory, then we had a chat about music, so though I never met him personally I think I glimpsed his personality, and he was a clever, straight-forward type, the kind we need more of. Thanks for reading and reviewing my Dahquain. The style calls for the repeating words.

Hi Red,
All these tributes to Michael are making me emotional. My mind just goes to mush. You have a lovely poem here. It is so nice to read how he got along with everyone so easily. There's a big empty hole in fanstory without him. He is truly missed. Even though he is gone, he still encourages us to write. Your poem is touching and well done. Thanks for sharing your memory of him.

My poem was meant to add a bit of information about Michael for his many fans, and I wonder if I should have gone with a tetrameter quatrain or two, rather than the Dahquain. I have trouble with identical words ending lines...thanks very much for reading and reviewing.

Red,
This is a super tribute to Mikey. Did you know they made a multi-author book for him so we can post all our poems and such where the family can find them??
Of course, I still haven't figured out what I'm gonna say. My thoughts are still all rambled. I enjoyed this quite a lot - as I do all your posts. I hope your family appreciates you. Thanks, bud.

I didn't deal with Mikey a lot, a few reviews, the chat about music, a time or two when he responded to my questions in the forum. My impressions were favorable, and at my age people I know are all going home, so I tried to throw out one more bit of his Fanstory persona for his fans to see. Thanks for reading my verses.

I went to portfolio and clicked on add to a book but it only gave me a list of my own books to add to. Where did I miss the gate?
No matter, this style of poem is not my shining moment....thanks for reading and reviewing.

You need to go to my post about Michael. Just about the review box there is a tab for adding to the book.

This is a sweet and well rhymed write with a great warmth within these words, I didn't know him well, but I read his posts, he is a tragic loss to this site, love Dolly x

I didn't know him as well as many Fanstorians, who express genuine grief at his demise, but I know he was friendly and helpful to many. The Dahquain is the current potlatch club challenge. I am not fond of the repeated words at line ends...thanks for reading and reviewing.
Comment from Gloria ....
This is a wonderful tribute poem to Michael. He really did like to share his music as I do believe it was his first love, even more than writing.
Such apt observations of his steady hand and will indeed be missed.
Really enjoyed this Ellijay.

I was looking for a way to reply to the potlatch club challenge, and a mention of Mikey seemed natural. In the end. those same word endings sound sorta flat, but maybe the message is clear.
