A symbol of hope, indeed. I love the way the picture shows both the back of one and the underbelly of the other Cahow. Very nice 5-7-5 poem. Loved the afternote. As slow breeders, I am amazed they have come back as far as they have. I wish them continued success. Good job.

I liked the poem, but I liked the canoe historical story more. It was well-crafted and provided a great deal of information. Thanks for helping me to learn about this rate seabird.

Excellent! Thank you for educating the reader with your poem and with all the information you carefully included about the Bermuda Petrel. Lovely picture as well which helps one feel and reflect on what nature and its creatures are all about.

This was an extraordinary story and thank you for telling it. Birds are a passion of mine and your remarks will go in my computer archive, if I may? These birds are not the only creatures thought to be extinct that show up for no reason. Nature is a marvel and you are an excellent writer!
