I have been on loads of diets, and then after being slim for a while, find it has all gone back on again while my back was turned! Such is life. I'm not going on another diet, I'm going to change my way of life, I won't be spending so much time on here next year for a start! I need to get out a bit more. I can so relate to this poem. I only have to think about food these days and I put wait on although I was always skinny in my younger days. I hate the thought of having to make kids so aware of what they eat but it seems we must these days. Best wishes. Jen

Very well expressed. Men also can have the same issue. I like the kitchen taste test, food buddies and hungry kids themes. I love to cook and taste. Amazing how when I was younger my metabolism kept the weight off. Now, I look at food and gain an ounce! Lol. Hugh

Comically arranged this particular write captures a mother tender concerns, balancing pleasures with not haves, finding it at time hard to keep even. It does defeat the purpose of weigh loss. All in my opinion.

Or being blind. I used to be the skinniest person I knew. My weight has come on in recent years due to my inability to exercise due to hastening vision loss. I keep my skinny clothes in the back closet because I haven't given up. My doctor is working with me and giving me some great advise...eat much less. I write several hours a day and read...no help there. Oh well, slow but sure. I hope you are well and good, able to enjoy a Christmas cookie, or two.

Uh-h-h-hhh, are you saying the woman in your accompanying photograph has weight issues, Susan, LOL?
I think all women are beautiful in their own special way.
I subscribe to the theory that women age like fine wine while men age like milk.
Society places so much emphasis on a person's outward appearance while God only sees the heart inside the individual.
You're right, though. Being overweight isn't healthy and is very hard on that heart God cherishes so much.
