We all have our hardships. Maybe if everyone in the house curbs their eating pounds will disappear and less will be spent on food in the long run.

Keep writing

Happy Holidays.

indear, weight loss is a real achievement and even better if you can keep the pound away. I salute you. I am at the point of losing weight myself and it is not as easy as it makes out to be.
thank you dear friend for sharing!
Blessings and a hearty hug!

It truly is a struggle for many with so many opportunities to indulge as we find ways to eat to celebrate as well as drown our sorrows.

Well done.

Blessings

This is a very good post. I identify with the battle. I've been doing good for a long while with my weight, too, but it requires constant vigilance. Kids' eating habits are established early, so good ones need to be reinforced. Marilyn

This made me smile. A spot on observation told in a conversational tone, yet the word choice and lines breaks were obviously well thought through. Very effective and humorous.

This poem, Mommyish Wish, has the message that e@ting can sometimes be something that happens to us and not for us. I have put weigh5 on since r3tiring. Hope I lose it befor3 it gets me in t4ouble.

They look happy enough but think of the diabetic misery they are in all likelihood setting themselves up for in the future. Hilaire Belloc got it right back in 1907:

The chief defect of Henry King
Was chewing little bits of string.
At last he swallowed some which tied
Itself in ugly Knots inside.
Physicians of the Utmost Fame
Were called at once; but when they came
They answered, as they took their Fees,
"There is no cure for this Disease.
Henry will very soon be dead."

His parents stood about his Bed
Lamenting his Untimely Death,
When Henry with his Latest Breath,
Cried: "Oh, my Friends, be warned by me
That Breakfast, Dinner, Lunch and Tea
Are all the Human Frame requires . . ."
With that the Wretched Child expires.

Hilaire Belloc 1907

My elder child had issues with eating, she never seemed to eat enough, for us as anxious parents, (although she was energetic enough) when we took her to the doctor, he said everything was normal with Rebecca, and he added "do you want a fat child?" So well done with your poem Susan, beautifully done, blessings, Roy

Trust me, I do understand weight issues. I think anyone that is naturally skinny, is from another planet and should be required to return to it. A big problem with getting older is there seems to be less activity and more calories. You do have to fight. I wish us all luck. P.S. I still shop at CUTE & CHUBBY.
