I've never heard of most of those songs but I can easily appreciate the talent it took to weave that many songs into one post.
I never got into Rock 'n Roll and I prefer instrumentals to singers.
Sally Law sounds like a good Country Music title.
Great job!

Thanks for posting this. It's very clever and entertaining. I have to admit, I didn't spot half of them. I guess I'm not a good listener when it comes to radio songs.

Thank you for the super review! I am so glad you enjoyed it. My husband only got three. He said it wasn?t necessary to know the titles and artist because he was married to me. I?m a walking jukebox! It was fun to do something with my rockin knowledge.
All my best,
Sally

Thank you Yvette for the excellent review and comments! If you had fun and I made you laugh, my work is complete. So much heavy stuff on FanStory right now, I thought we all needed a little bit of fun! Thanks for laughing with me!

this was very clever, original and a lot of fun. I wager it was a gas to write. the story was readable even without the "song drops". I got most of them, Sally................meeshu

Thank you so much Meeshu for the kind review! It was so much fun to write. My husband got only three. He said he doesn?t need to remember the titles because he?s married to me. I am glad you did so well. You must have a excellent memory!

I have been in to music since Bob & the Beatles. I love the stories and trivia that surrounds it.

I am glad you listed the songs at the end. I'm afraid I didn't get as many songs as I thought I would, but I sure had fun trying to find them in your road trip story. You did a fine job of incorporating the songs into a story. A clever piece. Well done.

I graduated from the Rock 'n' Roll College Of Knowledge...with honors. - LOVED THIS OPENING...witty and fresh!
Come along with my husband and me on our fall road trip and see how many song titles you spot in my story. -edit suggestion:
Tag along with hubby and me as we embark on a fall road trip. Let's see how many song titles you can spot along the way.
Everyday was wonderful with my love by my side.- edit suggestion to remove extra 'my'
With hubby by my side, every day was wonderful. - or something similar to remove second MY :)
We set out just before daybreak. - Our journey started at daybreak. - a thought?
"I knew I should have brought my travel mug! If only(,)" - comma inside the quotes :)
"It's too late to turn back now, my love! You make me smile with your coffee pleas! Not much longer(,)" said Jackson. - same here, just move comma inside quotes :)
It looked so cute and quaint; so we stopped. - edit suggestion:
A quaint little restaurant, we couldn't resist its charm. Of course, we had to stop.
We were trying to log 500 miles (by the end of day one). So, we carried on, continuing our journey headed due north. - just a suggestion
It was a lazy day as we motored along the carefree highway. It truly was one fine day! - I know that's a song title, but it needed to be connected to a sentence...does this work?
(Jackson and I) stopped at antique shops... - so not to repeat WE too many times in prose body :)
Our journey ended in New England where we spent a lovely couple's weekend.
Haha, this is clever. Other than the two commas, the edits I made are mere suggestions, and just that, suggestions to help the flow and transition. They are not requirements. This was a clever, fresh write, as I stated previously. Your road trip was well conveyed and your voice was full of fun and wit. I wish I could have gone with you. My only road trip, or trip period, I've ever wanted to take was to New England...next time, let know when ya'll leave. I'll stow away in your luggage :) I don't eat much. Ha
Nicely done, Sally. Keep em coming. I enjoyed this challenge. Yes, I caught most of them, LOL

Thank you dear! You are always so encouraging and helpful. The only thing I did not edit was my love and by my side, which are two songs back to back. Oh well. It does have better flow with your suggestions. I fixed the commas. I am glad you enjoyed it. This trip was from earlier times and we did not make it that far north. But it sounded good, right? I had fun with it!
All my best. Big hug!

Wonderful. So glad it helped :) I wasn't sure if it would mess with the titles...that's why they were 'suggestions.'
You're so sweet...

Thank you so much for the stellar review! I?m so glad you liked it. The songs came from my iron clad memory of rock and roll songs. I was crazy for 45?s and went to sleep every night listening to them play. Drained deep into my mind. In many cases, I can tell you what year the song was released! Oh my! I am glad you had fun along with us!
All my best,
Sal
