What a story, I had not heard her of her or her evil ways. Talk about true and pure evil, she was that alright and then some. The devil's daughter(Enriqueta Marti Vampire of Barcelona) is the name that shamed a nation I reckon, a name that would be whispered so that no one else can hear it.
Maybe reincarnation is real and she keeps getting reborn, Bathroy, Hindley etc. Awesome read friend !!

I will never understand how evil some people can be. Obviously I live in a different world than people like this but their cruelty is just beyond my ability to understand. Your poem is excellent and, as always, your detailed notes, while horrible, are fascinating.

Hi, Meia,

As usual, your research into your subject was superb. I don't think I ever knew about this character, but I certainly won't forget her anytime soon!

Thank you for sharing your gifts,

Wow that is a horrible story! Extremely hard to believe how many people were in on it, but then you see the same things today. Some people are more like wild animals, no worse than that I guess. very well told story in the poem-was able to know most of what you helped us with in the afterword by the well crafted words of the poem.

My goodness, what a horrible, horrible person! You did a great job of putting this to verse, Meia. And we thought Jeffrey Dahmer was bad. Your book about true stories sounds intriguing. All the best, Ann Marie

That was one disgusting woman. Great job describing the nefarious joys Enriqueta took in making the bones and the blood of her child slaves into perfumes Meia. It just seems so strange that the people who bought those lotions and beauty balms wouldn't care that what they were putting on their faces came from murdered children. Well done.

Hi Meia. This is long but is very interesting. What evil. Not just by her. The women who bought the potions knowing where they came from. And the unspeakable men who rape and torture children. The mayor and others who covered it up. Pure evil. I found it worthwhile. Thank you for sharing

"But not a normal one:
The vile woman??? used her false 'sweetness". Fanstory gremlin got you in your notes. There is another spot where I want to be sure you meant "out the" rather than "out of the"

"high influence in Spain, helped her to get out the jail. "

And another spot where the fanstory gremlin got you in your notes.

"It matters not how much I call you â??Mother, Mother.â?? You hear me, but you will not listen...." "

Wow. Just so horrible, what people are capable of.
To think that women of that time actually used these creams, potions, with no qualms.
Makes me wonder if there's any end to human depravity.
I'll never understand how some can be so good, while others are so evil.
Poor, poor children.
Their crime was being born into a life of poverty.
As usual, a wonderful write Miss Meia.
Blessings...

How sad. As a father and grandfather My blood literally boils with anger and disgust to know that someone so evil actually existed and performed such horribly evil acts upon poor and defenseless children. May hell forever hold her captive as she surely died without ever atoning her evil sins.

This is most chilling, Meia! Nothing is stranger than real life!

You did an awesome job with this piece. Exceptional! Imagery that made my hair stand on end. Yikes! Extremely well researched and presented in fine poetic style.

It's too bad she didn't manage to take her own life in jail. It could have saved countless innocent victims.

Hugs,
Connie
