Shirley, This is a very well written poem about your inner child walking with you through all the pain and sorrow in your life. I agree with you about going from victim to survivor. I am one also my friend. Very good words and great imagery! I enjoyed reading and reviewing this. Blessings, Teri

Really well done Shirley. My heart breaks for abused kids. If I had my way, the perpetrators would be drug behind cars. It happens so much here. We have had 2 babies killed by boyfriends of the mother. These women so desperate for a man and leave their kids with them. They know what kind of men they are. 2 more were killed by parents. Sickening. They should get the death penalty. Sorry, anyway, really great job.

Powerful. Moving. Devastating. This was good and really touched my heart. Tell the story. It needs to be heard. I was a victim. So thank you for this piece.

Beautiful that you use writing for healing...child abuse is the shabbiest most vile disgusting thing

A gentle heart has been set free,
to blend with better parts of me.
At last our thoughts no longer hide,
we speak our truth to heal and guide

If adult eyes had seen our plight,
withIn the darkness of each night.
They would have seen an angel guide,
who wiped away the tears I cried.
Beautiful beautiful
God bless
