Seems I already read this about a grandmother. It is still nice even so. I have been hanging up pictures and have gotten all achy. But, It feels like home now. I didn't know we had casinos in Texas. Karen

    The Indians are getting us back. I am part Kickapoo. A very little bit. I guess that is where I get my straight hair from. :-)

Nice cute little poem. I see this poem was the contest winner. Cool, very cool. I am not a fan of such short poems but yours does carry a message across and I seem to remember voting for it. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Poet, this is a lovely little 3/5/3 poem. I enjoyed the rhyme of other and mother, and the consonance of L sounds was pleasing to read. Congratulations on the win.

Congratulations on your win! I think that this says so much and so succinctly. It could also win the Mother's Day poem, too! Most of us would agree that a mother's love is like no other. Well done.

Cheers Neonewman;
-I do like a 5/7/5 syllabic format that is very concise and to the point with a conceptual theme that is universal. Your 5/7/5 is just that.
-Mothers are an unconditional love or as close to than any other family member or person on the street.
-Good luck in the contest, my friend, and take care and have a good one especially with all those that love you dearly.
Alex

This is a very simple statement but of course it is true. Its truth is self defining for should a female parent not display "love like no other" then she is not, effectively, worthy of the title of mother, whatever the biological situation might be.

Yes, it's a special type of love. I still see my children as if they were babies sometimes and feel kind of nostalgic when I realize how quickly time has passed.
Lovely little poem. I like the picture as well.
Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I would have to agree, mothers are a very special breed indeed, Steve.
It's easy to see why this did so well in the contest.
It's short but meaningful and the accompanying artwork added the perfect touch.
Congratulations on your contest win.

"A Mother", is short, succinct and very much to the point. It was a pleasure to read this talented poet's delightful work. I look forward to reading your next post. To me, this is a six. but unfortunately I only have fives left.
