JMF congratulations to a most exquisite work of art in your wording and selection of art. Beautifully put together. Timely wording for the title of the poem and a well deserved win. Such creativity and a elegant presentation. thank you for sharing.

Good Afternoon, Janet,
Congratulations on taking the Blue Ribbon for the sonnet contest! And what a beautiful sonnet you've written.
The technique is perfect. Everything from perfect iambic pentameter, rhyme pattern, turn, etc. is all done so very well. The story is a sad one, but one to which many readers can relate.
Well done, my friend.

Thanks Ray,
It didn't start out as a sad poem but that is where my "muse" took me. (smile)
This is the first contest of this kind that I have won so I'm really happy with it.
I hope you are doing OK. We missed you last Tuesday night.
As always, I appreciate your encouragement, my friend.
Janet.

Thank you for letting us know your poignant sonnet is not autobiographical. I admired your artwork selection that reinforced the "blue heavens" and your pure rhymes. Best wishes in the contest- Joan

HI Janet, I believe if love is truly true...nothing can tear it apart...a love that last from the beginning to the end...love that last 50-60 years...to people who see only one...their mate...and those are very rare loves...there is love that just last...but only so far...mostly for convenience...it's sooo sad when one truly loves...and the other pretends...sigh...love your poem my sweet friend...and your picture is stunning...very well written...love Linda xxoo

So beautiful. Truly, a poem about love and lost. Thousands of women wonder why their love seemed so real and, then, after so many years just disappeared. A tribute and message to women to survive the loss of loves. WELL DONE. Lol liberty justice

Your words are very descriptive and do an excellent job of setting the sad and disappointing mood of your poem. I love it when starting a piece of writing and it takes you somewhere you had no idea it would. Elizabeth Daniels.

A beautifully written sonnet, in perfect iambic pentameter with unfaltering rhymes and a sad message mirrored so creatively in the changing sky. I loved how you carried the reader from starry skies to hopeful dawn to skies of grey and blurring snowflakes. Nicely done. Good luck in the sonnet contest. I wish I were not out of sixes!

This is a truly beautiful example of a sonnet. From the first lines you drew me in with a sadness. This poem made me feel what it's like to loose someone who's a part of you. Truth or fiction, this piece resonates of the wistful truth of the matter. Well done and publish-worthy!

This is a truly beautiful and nostalgic poem of love realized and then lost. The beauty remains. Writing a sonnet is not easy, but you have done it. I especially like the first two lines of the poem. I can feel the words. Perhaps if you had stayed in this depth of beauty and imagery throughout the poem, you would have created an even greater sonnet. All in all, well done.
