Hello Gypsy Blue Rose, Well done and an excellent look into depression. Of special note:
When I wake up my first thought is, oh God another day of emptiness.
(real writing.)
Your haiku ending speaks volumes and is filled with vivid imagery. Today you wrote something brave.
Best wishes in the voting booth. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

Haibun is one of my favourite Japanese forms and you have done well with the composition of this one. It is full of insight into the troubled thoughts of a person living with depression. The prose portion of the Haibun is precise and tells about the way time distorts, disappears and rematerializes.
The Haiku sums the prose portion up beautifully. Even in death, there is life.
Perhaps that also translates to even in despair, there is hope.

One rarely thinks of flowers in the sense of the dead ones, Gypsy, but you always find an alternative to the usual road we all follow. I don't see inertia in your life thank goodness, but it seems an appropriate Satori for this one, Giddy

Something must die for something to live. The dead flower is reincarnated into beautiful blossoms. If we plant our seeds into the ground with expectation with reap a harvest. Good things come in due time. Not overnight. There is the doldrums in the eye of a hurricane. The storm will pass and the sun will shine again some day. Takes rain to make things grow. Without darkness there would be no conception of light. BOO-terrific!

MariVal,
Congratulations on winning!
Six stars for the courage it takes to post a piece of your soul for any one to read. Many may think this is merely an exercise, but I recognize the truth in the words you have birthed and am sorry for your pain. If I can help, let me know.

Hello, Gypsy, :)
I'm sorry for your depression unless this is just writing. I have made that mistake before thinking it was real when it was just made up. I think it's real, though, because I have felt that way, probably not as bad as that. What I did, and it worked, is a meditation I made up. I sat in front of a candle and sent my sadness and depression in it to the universe. It took many months but it got better.
Take care,
Nome

Hi Gypsy; I am so sorry you are dealing with the depression. It makes for a difficult time, and the feeling of 'wasting time' as the emptiness washes over you day after day is horrible.
I do hope you will start to find your way towards the light soon. I know when I'm down in the depths of despair, waiting for the lift I know will come is the only way to get through each day,
