You sure have been writing some nice poems lately. This is another nice one.
I haven't been on here for awhile lately. I hope I can start writing poems again.

Ohh Teresa, this is a bitter sweet haiku. Yeah, from passionate love to nothing. Love eventually wilts away, and then it hurts. Wonderful. I love the contrast of red and white. Well done. All the best

Sure see a lot of sixes up there. He --he. Maybe the red rose fading to white represents an Omen. Spiritual or figuratively. Every rose has a thorn. With beauty comes danger! We must fight and stay alive! take what precious breath we got right now for no one knows when we wil wilt like the rose. Lets live for now like it is out last day on Earth and who knows, it could be. White can be spiritual. death can bring new life that is everlasting and does not wilt, the immortal souls lives for eternity if we believe in Him ans pray for his blessings and forgiveness. Maybe things are meant to be, just keep hope for death is the beginning for some.

Thank you Boo. Sorry I'm not following your story. If you write poetry, I'll review, just don't have time right now to do justice for a book.
Comment from Joan E.
I admired the extreme contrasts between the "red" and "white" and "love" and the "thorn" in this 4-5-4 haiku. The reader is left to imagine the poignant backstory. Sighs- Joan

Ooooooo! Great (and dark, LOL) haiku tells a story using very few words and looks like an excellent entry in the Flowers chapter. Very nice visual presentation with excellent choice of artwork and colors. Great job!

Wow I like this one. The first two lines of imagery are very pronounced...red rose of love, wilts ad fades to white. then the satori...thorn pricks too deep. As a lost love would do.

Thank you Barb. Roses always remind me of my ex. When he bought me flowers - always roses - I preferred wildflowers, sunflowers, daisies, lilies, etc. I told him if he was going to get me roses I preferred yellow ones. Rarely did I get flowers but they were almost always red roses. They bring back bad memories:(
-
LOL no yellow ones????
-
I suppose I could handle yellow ones but still prefer daisies, etc. and those are what Rebecca brings me:)
-
I prefer wildflowers, they don't last long out of God's setting, but they are nature's finest.lol

Excellent work with this. The first two lines connect perfectly and the satori is superb. The red rose bled out... unique concept and a terrific entry for this book. I wish you all the best. I enjoyed this one very much.
