Haikuist-sensei did sneaky Pete with highlighting the word sol. Very nice and it starts with "i" which also stands for the internet in our 21st-century world. My son was in St. Louis this week, and it was 104 degrees before the heat index. Yikes! Thank goodness for Willis Carrier. He Invented the mechanical air conditioner in 1902. He was the Thomas Edison of AC.
Stay cool, Lady Blue.

Hi Gypsy. This one is good. I see the relationship of nature in this one. I think this one will be one of the ones chosen for the book. So good. xoxo Kiwi

Hello my dear friend, I very much enjoyed reading this beautifully written Haiku. You are very talented with the way that you are able to express such feelings and such short parameters. I like the way that this flows is very soft. Thank you very much for sharing this. Very nicely done. God bless you. With love, Lola

G'day mate.
Beautiful little piece of poetry and a fabulous picture to match it.
I have to admit, though, that I much prefer the heat to the cold brrrrrrr lol.
When we were in Melbourne last year we both nearly froze to death in 8C temps.
Great job.
Cheers Fez

I can so relate to this poem! The weather has been so incredibly hot here and only getting hotter this week for us. It truly is isolating. There is so much I'd like to go do, but I don't want to deal with the heat and humidity so I end up staying inside. I really enjoyed this piece, especially the emphasis on "sol" in the last line. That is so clever! I love it! :)

A very well-written haiku. The summer heat can be overwhelming at times. It is sometimes better to stay inside the house and out of the heat that leaves you isolated.

Hi Gypsy Blue Rose,
You have written another poem that was interesting to read.
How wonderful it was recognized by many of your friends.
Even better was that it received the "All Time Best" award.

I can relate to this. I, too, am feeling isolation from staying inside too much this summer to avoid the heat. But, then I think of my sister down in Palm Springs in the 120 degree heat driving with oven mitts. Perfect picture to help feel the heat in your poem.

I always wonder what you might come up with next. Of course, with the hottest part of the summer sun blazing down and the and feeling gummy from the humidity, I would rather be drenched with a sticky Snow-cone or Icy or whatever they call them in your part of the country. Great job.
