What a horrible thing for a sister and a babysitter to do. I don't think I would let that babysitter back even if she did apologize. That could be considered a kind of torture. You were smart to find a way to get upstairs. I can understand the lasting
effects on you.
I hope writing about it helped and I hope your sister stops laughing about it and realizes she needs to apologize. Maybe you should let her read this.
Congrats on the win

So powerful and profoundly brave to share this experience.
The imagery was compelling, vivid and emotive. You put us with you sharing the shocked fear and strong feelings toward Mary Jane and Becky.
Thank you. Keep writing

Congratulations on your winning entry. I can understand his such an event would have had an impact on you. I wonder if you have ever considered counselling for your current struggle with 'feeling unworthy and unloved.' Hopefully we are all making you feel 'loved' on Fanstory.

I hope that writing about this past event was cathartic for you. Young people can be cruel sometimes, but that's just the brashness of youth.

Congratulations on your win! This is a remarkable story. I recall going to the movies with my older cousins who got tired of me and my other cousin getting up out of our seats - we were around 4 years old. They tied us to the chairs with the shashes of our dresses. It was not nearly as frightening as your experience, but I know I can't stand the feeling of being bound. Thanks for sharing, and again, congratulations!!

what an awful thing to do and you so young - mind, they were children too and I've always thought some children are cruel to each other - you only have to listen to those who have been badly bullied at school.
It's no wonder it affected you, my friend -----
and it is no wonder you won lst prize - such a well-written piece.

Well done. Kids can be cruel to each other and hopefully grow out of it. I can imagine how scared you were during this entire event. I'm surprised your mother had the babysitter come back. Writing about these traumatic events can help, otherwise we carry them with us forever. Marilyn

Wow, this is a powerful story, Teresa, and I certainly understand how such a cruel thing could leave such an impact on a child. You describe the incident very well and you allow the reader to feel the pain and fear. Best wishes in the contest.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

Hi Teresa, a moving story very well told. Well, I've heard of physical and verbal bullying, but this was really cruel. Children can be very cruel, the animal in them LOL. Funny, how things stick in the mind. Your sister appears to find it funny.
Your following paragraph amused me. Not into the bondage thing then LOL?
'I still can't stand to have my arms pinned to my sides or held behind my back. Memories of the rope impressions on my arm come flooding back. It leaves me feeling emotionally bound as well as physically bound.'
Good luck in the contest. A good human, moving story. Warm regards Dorothy x

Definitely not into bondage of any kind:) Children can be very cruel and I know Mary Jane probably still feels bad about it. Too bad my sister doesn't have a little remorse.
Thanks Dorothy for the great review:)
