Another complicated form and a clever photograph--I'm glad you caught your wife's pose. I enjoyed your rhymes and rhythm, and I don't object to the "lost loves" but I wouldn't characterize Karen as "old"! Smiles- Joan

Well, you couldn't really have stopped at the end of line fourteen, it just wouldn't have worked rhythmically. I have just finished a first draft of my crown of heroic sonnets. I wasn't going to bother this year and then an idea entered my head so I gave it a go. Deadlin is 7th July so when I have finished tweaking its tail.

Comment from His Grayness
This is truly unique and lovely in all ways! The photography really pulls the reader into the work immediately and the liltingly delightful poetry delivery is magnificent. Wish I had the sixth star this really deserves! HIS GRAYNESS;

I'm pretty much a sore thumb when it comes to poetry.
Same with music. Same with mathematics. To me, these are related fields, and somehow elusive to me. Words, I understand. But when you mix them up with meter (math), I'm out of my element.
Anyway, limericks I understand! I'm familiar with that musical lilt.
I can even emulate it on occasion.
You rhymes are strong. Your rhythm works.
Butterflies/size is unexpected, but delightful.
Your sonnet ending throws me off a bit, but I have no inclination nor desire to object.
Peace, Lee

thank you so much for sharing this lovely poem about the outcome of a rainy spring. It is wonderful to reflect on the way the seasons run into one another and how they effect the next.
Well done,

A very well-written Limerick sonnet. Rain us good for nature and the plants grow well and blooms are just beautiful and in abundance. When the rain stops we can go outside and enjoy the beauty. Good photo to complement your sonnet.

Marvelous.
I marvel at and respect the skill with which you use to craft your work, The blending of the poetry styles is wonderful and as I stated before, your explanations do wonders to enlighten your fellow Fanstory writers.
This poem held my attention fully from beginning and I really enjoyed. My take on it in relation to the rest of poem is that it gives a possible reminiscence of what was or may have been: the rains that brought the flowers, creatures and scientists.
And for the old lady: Yes, I could imagine a beau having brought her flowers long ago and their walks along the path after a rain.
What an excellent and thought provoking ending.

The first stanza was very lovely. I'd add a comma after months on the first line. I'm not sure what to this of the ending. It's bittersweet, however, that seem to be a common personality for some. Nice work. Great notes.
