This nonet, From the Cradle to the Grave, brings that sad reality to me and has clutched me this morning. We are experiencing our newest grandson and wondering if we'll see him graduate. Getting old sucks bad.

But is the question "Where do we go when we die, if we ever really die at al in the first place?"
Reminds me of Janet Sebold's "The Lovely Bones", but with more tangible philosophical implcations one doesn't have to sit through (or even sift through) a a two and one half hour movie.

Did you read the book-The Lovely Bones? The movie was good but the book was superb reading. Thanks so much for any comparison, and especially the terrific green star!

Because I saw the movie, I want to read the book. One of the actresses in there (who also was murdered & ended up as a spirit guide before she got to heaven) was also in another movie called 'Stick It' with jeff Bridges as a gymnastics coach.
I take care of my mother who has Alzheimer's so I don't frequent my local independent bookstore or library anymore.
I'll probably order the book through the mail. Thanks again for reading and reviewing.

The seven ages neatly wrapped up in nine lines, which start full of excitement about the journey ahead and gradually decline, through a series of human antics, until it is time for us to leave the stage. A classic story, well-delivered within the framework of the Nonet.

I love the different picture frames depicting life's journey from "cradle to the grave", and you've captured the essence of life's journey well in your Nonet poem. We journey through fun and sadness, the good and bad, "love and lose" and eventually it's all over.
This is very well written and presented. Excellent assonance with your a's and an added bonus to see some rhyming in your Nonet as well.
