I do like this sonnet format, it's a delight to read. I'll have to have a go at that. Your photo is amazing, Tom, how lucky you were to be in the right place at that time to catch it. And, what a wonderful poem to compliment it. The words are perfect the heart in a city, I doubt this will ever happen again. Well done, and all round excellent presentation. :) Sandra xx

What a fun photograph! That's a one in a million shot, for sure! *smile* And though I am NOT a sonnet girl, I really enjoyed this one. You made it SING. I really, really liked it. Thanks! BTW, I've missed ya!

Wow - I didn't notice the heart until I read your notes. What an amazing image to capture, and it goes perfectly with your Sonnet about a city having a heart. I love that you stay true to your home town in your poetry. This is an excellent ekphrastic poem, Tom. An excellent start to 2017.

Amen. But please let it be a photograph of something that has a huge payout.

This is beautifully constructed and reads aloud like music. I have never heard of this style of sonnet before and am now dying to give it a go. Your imagery in this piece is marvelous and the couplet absolutely inspiring in its truth and simplicity. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

Welcome back from your time out. I for one have missed both your posts and your knowledgeablreviews.
Your photographers eye picked up on that cloud that was there for everyone to see but didn't.
An interesting form and a clever exposition of it. Alliteration on the "B" that includes the word "bridge" alerts the reader to the upcoming bridge on to which we rumble with more alliteration on the "M"
By the time we get to line 19 there has been considerable cleverness but little beauty. The volta however turns our thoughts to that omission and finds it in all sorts of unlikely places.
This has to be worth a six.

This is true. There is beauty in the city with its people, architecture and street art.
Even without green everywhere there is life. Each city does have its heart.

Hi TRIESCEL,
This was a great poetic description of Fourth street in Minnesota. It is a shame that we lose so much greenery in these concrete jungles, but they do have their own attractions especially at night. You were lucky to capture that cloud shaped like a heart.

Thanks for your foot note that helped me to know which form it is-never heard of it. A nice photo, made by you, complements your poem perfectly. It is an Alfred Dorn Sonnet, completely with all requirements.
