Just love every word of this. What a terrific message to send out to many who see their everything as 'entitlement'. Reminds me of Kennedy's message ' ask not what your country will do for you'. Terrific picture too! Well done!

I enjoy poems that rhyme. If the poem carries meaning, I like it even more. This poem does both. I too am annoyed by people feeling victimized all the time. Even worse, I hate people claiming I am victimized when I'm not. Well, except being used by people claiming I'm a victim. Sheesh! (I'm a woman who is not white.)

I think I may be offended, maybe, something, anyway I think I'm going to my safe space. I need some cocoa and white puffy marshmallows. Lol, I absolutely loved this one. This is only a fictional piece for the contest. This is NOT aimed at, or about you, or anyone you care about. The contest wanted 'ATTITUDE', that is what was written. I give you six stars because of your photo. If only she and her husband actually believed and lived what is written our country would be much less divided.

Except for the disclaimer at the end in the notes, I think this set of rhyming couplets speaks frankly how many feel about the whiners of the world who never get what they want. They want money without effort, love without commitment, to share opinions based on ignorance, and to be heard albeit with nothing to say.

I'm glad you explained yourself in your notes. I was trying to think of a polite respomse, but I couldn't came up with one. Your poem has attitude by the score. To say it's contraversial is an understatement; this in particular:-
If your man hits you and his evil abuses make you weep
Either leave, or grow a pair & kill the bastard in his sleep

If the reader is amused, as I was, it is good prose. If, on the other hand the reader is angry at your honesty, then they need to GROW THE F*** UP! I am going to show this to my housemates here at North side recovery, I would be willing to bet you that at least one quarter of them will fall into the latter group.
