Very good case for both sides, Mikey. Your second letter is not quite as effective as the first sicne it's plea is emotional, wheras the first is rational.

Wow and with a little humor for spice oh both sides, this is absolutely wonderful. Both sides make a strong argument in favor of their beliefs and moral issues;
You would be a great debater dear friend

Good job countering the argument. I really like it! It's good to be back again--I keep wanting to make this a job that I don't get paid to do, but I really want a job that pays money. I'll try both. We all need dreams, right?
Good to see you, Mikey :)

This is great. You covered all the arguments both sides.

As you know, I agree with the letter TO the editor.

Never mind that. Both letters were interesting and well written.

Isn't this fun? 8-)

Mikey, Mikey, Mikey....

Was this painful for you? hahahaahaha! I know you subscribe to the latter opinion, so as I read the first letter, I had to wonder if it was harder to write than the second one. But, you did a brilliant job on BOTH! Kudos!

I enjoyed reading your challenge entry. I do like these challenges. On this issue, some days I'm on one side of the fence and other days I'm on the other. You might think that's funny but look where I am from; Texas. Immigration is a HUGE issue here and both views have very valid points. My opinion changes with what has happened that day in MY life.

It has been my experience on Fan Story that so many times when I'm saying something tongue and cheek there are always a few who take what I'm trying to say literally. So, with that being said, I sure hope that all you Potlatchers don't get bombarded with hate mail. LMFAO! Thanks for another fun read. :-)

Awesome letters on both sides. You definitely have the attitude and voices correct. Hard to do, but not for you!
Well done. Excellent Potlatch Prose Prompt.

Good definition from both points of view. I'm a lefty so I agree with the final argument. Those on the other side are misinformed. To obtain foodstamps and any other kind of assistance, one must produce a birth certificate,, proof of address, and tons of other documentation that would not be in the possession of an illegal immigrant. Studies show that the highest use of social programs are the white poor.

I've had legal immigrant friends. The vetting was stiff. Each had to have a sponsor and a trade.

Dang it Mav. You have the picture I was looking for. Ha. You can't go wrong with the Simpsons.

Well this is a really fine job, Mav. It might even be recommended to people who spout off in letters to the editor to carefully consider both sides before sending.

Great offering to the Potlatch. You write 'em up good.
